Is Lump in the throat part of TMJ?

Is having like a lump feeling below your voice box part of the TMJ symptoms? I been having that lately, all day long most of the time. Notice that I have a sore on the end of my tongue too and that means I been clinching at nite when I sleep. I was diagnosed with severe TMJ on the right side. I also feel like a gland is swollen on my neck where my voice box is at and when I pressed on it, it pains all the way back to my jaw? I am very new to this. I went to the ENT specialist and he wants me to go to a denist who specializes in TMJ and get fitted for a mouth guard, but he wants my family doc to do the referals, so I am waiting till I go back to family doc to get referal. Any info would help about TMJ. This lump in the throat sure is uncomfortable and feels like food is stuck there.
