My friend has a "nervous?" tic when she talks; every few seconds she sticks her tongue out uncontrollably. She thinks it must have something to do with the TMJ and broken jaw she has. She says she think she might be doing it to relieve the pressure, or something. She's always kept everything in, she says; clenching her jaw since she was a little girl. She wants to quit, and it's pretty awful. Does anyone know what can be done to make it quit? Her doctor has no idea. She finds that she can consciously quit doing it while we're talking about it, but once we talk about something else, it starts up again.
Please email me with any help!
Betty
