In 1952 when I was in the second grade, an X-ray found a suspicious-looking spot on my lungs and I was required to be tested extensively for tuberculosis, at that time a dreaded disease. The fear I experienced then was eased by a Bible verse I had heard at church:
"I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5b)
True to His promise, the Lord was with me at all times. As it turned out, I did not have the disease, but I know that if I had had it, He would have been there for me.
I'm so glad there are better treatments now for Tuberculosis and people don't have to endure the isolation that once existed.
