Infinity: yeah DEFINITELY take a B-50 or B-100 once a day, I'm taking 1 B-50. Don't worry about getting too much B6 or B12, they will only cause acne when they are taken by themselves in large amounts (and like B5, they can be useful to treat other things) which upsets the balance. I highly recommend taking a B-complex to anyone on B5. And if you aren't seeing great results with just those two, add some B3 (must be the niacinamide form, not plain niacin) 500mg/day
and biotin. cheers.

Hey Mustafa

I'm sorry man but I think your talking some serious sh ite. I've been taking B5 for 2 months now (6 Grams in total). I've never had a single side effect and my skin is better than ever. And whats this sh it about pure B5 being illegal in Britain. I live in Scotland, and I have seen B5 in almost every vitamin shop I have been in. Try Holland and Barret or Boots, mate. All UK shops sell it as Pantothenic acid. If you ask for B5, nobody seems to know what it is. I'm sorry but your nfo is definetely incorrect and misguiding.

Mustafa can you please at least tell us what type of medicine your sister specializes in? If she's just in general practice then I think I'd take the word of the doctor/scientist who originally did the B5 acne study over your sisters. No offense friend.

jim maple yes it is only available on perscription in England and can only be given out without perscription by a homeopath the stuff you buy in boots isn't pure B5 well at least thats what the pharmasicst told me you've probably got the same stuff as me.

oh i think my sister specialises in neurology now but she did do her fair share of work in accident and emergency a few years back so i do beleive what she says, and i don't for 1 minute excpect you to beleive me there are loads of strange people on the internet but i can assure you i ain't 1 of them

i can't remember what my sister said word for word and i won't see her again for a few weeks cus she was only down for the weekend she dosn't work in london,
but i think she said somthing about your body not synthasising that much of it or somthing and it ends up rotting your stomach if you take to much i can't really remember to be honest but she said somthing about the pancreas as well i'm no expert but it sounds pretty reasonable to me that if you take copius ammounts of it it will bugger up your body.

"i can't remember what my sister said word for word....i can't really remember to be honest....i'm no expert but it sounds pretty reasonable to me...." is NOT enough cause to start a panic thread on this board. you should have asked if anyone knew of such side effects and cited your sister, but to post "B5 is really dangerous...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" is kinda sick man, are you just craving attention? think about it, friend....

ok fair enough but when my sister told me it scared the **** out of me cus i allready got irritable bowel syndrome therefore i'm pretty sensitive about my stomach and intestines and so forth.
so i guess i reacted without a lot of thought but i did do it with everyones best interests at heart i guess i made a mountain out of a mole hill but in my case if anything happens to my bowels i get pretty ill so that is why i reacted harshly but as i keep on saying if it helps take it just go easy on the stuff too much of anything can be bad for you.

medicine and vitamins all originate down to natural products. Everything is made from herbs. All medicine is made basically from nature. B-5 is a safe product to take in mega doses for the mere fact as it is water sollable. Your body will excrete unused b-5.
I honestly dont believe it will do a damn thing for acne though . I admit alot of derms aren't dumb they are by the book... No matter what because of the fact to save there own *** .

We live in a world of if you screw up i get your mooney and assets from you and that is why alot of doctors aren't trying their hardest to be "doctors" they are staying in the scope of practice of what the book says and nothing moree. They leave all the research and development to the scientists. There is nothing wrong with vitamin B-5 .

i've never heard about B5 before reading about it here - but maybe abecause i was "blessed" with acne only now at late 20s.
i will check with my doc the next time i'll see him, but i do know that most of the stuff that really help with acne have some side effects that should be taken into concern - i'm trying to conceive now (this is why my hormones change) and ALL the doc's i've seen said that most of the medicines for acne are very dangerous if taken during pregnancy (if that happens abortion is necessary).
keep that in mind...
