Hey C-Blue,

I dont think they are physically addictive. But mentally they are for me. But that is great your clothes are fitting better. I loved it when my clothes are loose. I did not even throw away my clothes from when I was heavy. i still wear my blue jeans. LOL

My 4th of july weekend consisted of cleaning and re-arranging my whole house. I got a really good workout. And plus my husband is leaving for a little two week deployment, so it was nice spending a weekend w/ him. He had 4 days off. So, we just enjoyed each other.

I moved to a new area in 99 and still haven't found the perfect person to work out with. I find it easier to have somebody to go with. Any advice on working out alone or how to find somebody to work out with?

Oh...my fiance joined my gym to work out with me, but will be working out in the men's section! *Laughs*

Hi Marlz,

You know what I do to workout? I turn on my music and dance around the house. My hubby will not workout w/ me. The sad thing w/ him is he is Navy. LOL Go figure right?

I have workout videos...but I find that turning on my music and taking about 30-45 minutes to dance really helps me out. For me it is a good workout and fun.

Hope this helps,
Sinnrah

Hi! I would like to join the group. I do not weigh myself very often though. I don't like to get hung up on the scale like I have done in the past. I try to judge by other factors such as how I feel and how clothes are fitting. I weigh in about once a month. I eat healthy, workout, strength train with weights and drink alot of water. I don't believe in any fad diets or any quick fixes. They obviously don't work long term. I have made a lifestyle change and will definitely share my progress. Keep up the great work everyone!

This is the kind of board I was looking for. I was 208 as of last Friday and I started my diet last Thursday. I'm don't have a specific goal weight in mind but I know it's not 209. I just want to be able to feel more comfortable around the beach with my shirt off.
I work and go to school full time so finding an excuse why I couldn't workout or eat right was fairly simple. I'm hoping for a change in lifestyle. I've cut soda completely out of my diet since last Thursday and switched to seltzer. I've also started using Xenadrine but I know there are side effects so I'm watching myself but feel good so far and it's been a week. I've been eating small meals and walking two miles at night after school. Also I'm trying to run in the morning. To be honest I feel great.
Hopefully this board can keep me motivated when I lose my motivation which I'm sure will be within the next few weeks.
Sorry if I bored anyone and good luck to everyone.

Hi everyone!

I just found this site, and this seemed like such an inviting thread to make my first post in. I found a picture of myself from May in a pile right next to a picture of myself from last August, and I almost cried after I saw how much weight I put on at school this year! That was 3 weeks ago, and since then, I've lost 11 pounds and 6 inches. I'm so excited to be eating right and exercising again. Doesn't it feel great once you get the motivation to just start?

Right now, I weigh 170 pounds (I'm so happy to be able to say that) and I'd like to lose another 10 before I go back to school at the end of August. I'd really love to get my measurements down at least to what they were last year. My ultimate goal is to eventually get down to 145, but I don't want to get too far ahead of myself.

I'm so glad that I found this site. It's exactly what I've been looking for. I'm really looking forward to getting to know some of you!

Hi Casper,

I bought a used Tae Bo tape not too long ago, and I love it! I'm not exactly the most coordinated person in the world, so I'm still stuck in the beginning level, but even though it seems like the moves are easy enough, I always feel like I've had a good workout. Supposedly, kickboxing is supposed to burn tons of calories. Don't quote me on this, but I believe it was above 600 cals/hour. I would definitely recommend it.

Hi welcome everybody, i am glad all of you guys join, motivation is very important, and hopefully all of us will be helping each other.

Gabby07, I being using Xenadrine since early june so is being a month and half, my diet is pretty simple this is what I do
first thing in the morning one pill
then 1\2 hr later or an 1 hr
breakfast either one of this that can also be my dinner- cereal(whole wheat such as total), or a shake(protein, or soy base powder), or some fruit w/lowfat cottagecheese
then mid morning another pill
lunch- usually small salad or any other regular meal small portion
mid afternoon- my last pill
snack -a fruit or yougurt
dinner sometimes a skip it or I might eat another fruit
drinks- water all day long
I haven't had the need to use the full dosage wich is 4 pills a day but I like the one in the morning instead of 2 together, so it all depends on how your body reacts, also I began with one for about a week because they were quite strong and I would feel weird all day long until i got used to it.
As far as exercise sorry I am a very lazy person, but I do walk 2-3 times a week, and I have a yoga video which i love because is a great way to relax and strech my body, I also like cardio boxing is fun, I was taking a class in spring semester, so now i am off for the summer but hopefully going back for fall.

Ok hope I was of some help and my post isn't too long
Have a great day!!!!

Casper,

I got mine used from someone on eBay. (I know... I'm cheap that way! *L*) I'm sure if you go to a seach engine and enter "Tae Bo" you'll get lots of results (I just did this and got tons of different options) and you can browse around to find the tape you want at the price you want. It's really a lot of fun.

If you need motivation, I'm sure we could give you some. Let me know when/if you get the tape, and then I'll hound you until you do it.

Hello Orlando's Girl,
I just found this message board and I hope I can still join.
I'm 5'7" and weigh 156 lbs. I went to the gym yesterday and was very depressed when I weighed myself. I came home in tears. Everyone that sees me thinks I'm crazy for wanting to lose weight but I see differently.
Yesterday (7-21) I did 30 minutes of cardio and did all my weights. This morning I got up and did my video tape walk away the pounds. After that I went for a walk around my neighborhood.
I want to get back down to 120 pounds. If it's not too late to join I will update you on my progress!
I could really use the support to stay motivated and to stick with this. Thanks for listening

hey sinnrah, it sounds like we go through some similar things in terms of weight and dieting, although you way about 30 pounds less than i do! haha! question: have you seen the same results from the xenadrine after stopping for a month and now starting again? i was on them from about march to late june and had gone from 138 to 123. loved the results but wanted to get off of them to "cleanse my system". i am back up to 134 and want to lose again. i've been on 4/day for a week and no loss yet. what was your experience like?

also,i agree with you about the "having to lose weight to having a borderline ED" i fluctuate like that as well. ugh, it's annoying.

glad to hear your grandmother is doing better!

Hey guys!
Haven't posted in awhile since I haven't weighed myself but I did today and *drumroll* I'm down from my original weight about 23 pounds! I have about 10 or so more to go, I heard the last few are the hardest, anyone know about the last few? was it as hard as people say, I think that if you keep doing what you're doing the last few shouldn't be much different from earlier pounds. Good Luck to everyone!

hi i would like to join if i could. tomorrow i start what i hope to be a big change in my life! i am 24 years old and weight 200 pounds right on the dot. i am very out of shape and unhappy with myself. i went shopping for clothes today and well i had to get a shirt that was 3x.....it depresses me but my hubsand always tells me i'm not fat, well i am and i want to do something about it and live better. i would feel so much better if i could lose atleast 50 pounds i wouldn't know what to do!!!! i have ordered so much diet crap off tv and just wasted so much money but i don't think i was ever serious, really serious but for some reason tonight this is all i can think about,i take paxil for anxiety and i'm hopeing thats not gonna make it even harder for me to lose weight cause it's already hard enough. but tomorrow i am going to give my all to start and stay with a plan to help me lose weight...this is what i'm going to do.
9:00am skip breakfast...i can't eat in the mornings!
but i am going to take my pills. 2-500mg of b5 and one b-complex vitamin.
10:00 a mutigran vitamin
12:00 eat luch,something small
2:00 2-500mg of b5
6:00 dinner....
7:00 1 -500mg of b5
9:00 i take my paxil for anxiety

b5) is suppose to help with weight loss and acne.
b-complex) you are suppose to take it with b5 because the b5 takes alot of the b vitamins out of the body.
mutigran vitamin) since i'm not eating alot i jsut want to make sure i get all my vitamins i need.

i am going to drink alot of water, hopefully about 5 cups a day or more but i'm trying to be realistic here,8 glasses a day to start off for me is going to be hard, cause i hate water!!!!!! i am ready for tomorrow and kinda excited,i plane to walk on my tredmill five minutes seven times a day, that tredmill about kills me! i smoke and i want to stop that also but i'm taking one bad thing at a time.
so today is july 28,2001 and my starting weight is 200 pounds and my goal is to lose 50 pounds by my birthday which is january 27th......i want to turn 25 with a new outlook and a new body

West Virginia Girl,

Skipping breakfast is always a mistake. Not only is it unhealthy overall, but will actually slow down your weight loss. Your metabolism "kickstarts" when you eat your first meal of the day; if your first meal isn't until noon, then you waste several hours of calorie burning. Also, if you eat too little, your metabolism will slow down, making it more difficult to lose weight.
