Hey everyone! I'm starting a group on this message for whoever wants support while trying to lose weight. Every day I am going to try to come here and say how much I lost or gained, and maybe what I ate, or something like that. Whoever wants to can post how much they weigh and what their goal weight is, or you can just say how much you want to lose. I'm here for people who need support, and I'll try my best to keep you motivated if you need it.

I'm looking to lose at least 15 pounds. I'm going to try to eat healthier and less than I normally do, and I'm going to excercise more. I started out walking 2 miles a day, and then I do my own personal ab excercises in the evening.

I'm not great with starting diets, so I'm going to need encouragement from whoever is will to give it! I hope I can help you too!

Today is really my first real day of my diet. I didn't eat any breakfast(I know that's bad, but I wasn't hungry!), I had a salad for lunch, and I'm not sure what I'm going to have for dinner. I'm trying to drink more water, which is hard because I can't stand the taste but I've got a few tips to make it taste better. I walked my 2 miles today, plus I have a softball practice tonight. I'll do my ab excercises later tonight. I hope your diets are going well!

Hey C-blue! Welcome! Walking helps me alot. People say that you are supposed to get your heart rate up, and I started to find that after awhile, my heart rate wouldn't go up from just walking. If this becomes the case for you, I would suggest trying what I do: I walk 50 steps, then I jog 50 steps, then I walk 50 steps, etc. The jogging part gets your heart rate up, while the walking gives you a small break, while still keeping your heart rate up. It's only a suggestion! Good luck with your weight loss!

MMS72,
You sound like me! Sweets are really my weakness! It's definitly going to be difficult for me to resist eating all the snacks that I usually eat! I never used to drink water either, I just can't stand it! But I'm slowly drinking more and more. Good luck!

Hey everyone! This is my second day of my "dieting" and I weighed myself this morning. So far I've lost a pound. A tiny pound! hehe. It's okay though, because it's only been one day. Alot of people say that you should only weigh yourself once a week, but I'm weighing myself everyday because that's what works for me. I was wondering how often you all are going to weigh yourself? Good luck!

Hi everyone how are you all doing? well I just went walking yesterday and I have to jog a little bit to get my heart rate up too, which is ok because I enjoy it, I just have to get my self out to the park. As far as how many times i weight my self, I was doing it everyday or every other day, but sometimes you don't lose anything and get discourage, so I put the scale away, and I am going to do it every week, (sunday mornings) good luck to all

I weigh myself every Sunday morning as well. It is better to not weight yourself everyday just because your weight fluctuates. I will tell you about my experience, when I first started my lifestyle change I did not weigh myself until about a few weeks into it, turns out I lost about 13 pounds! I was so excited I decided to weigh myself every Sunday, the next Sunday I went and it turned out that I actually gained about 3 pounds! this was so discouraging and was almost the downfall of my new way of life. That week I was eating as I was before and even exercising MORE, turns out that I gained muscle weight. Weight fluctuates and it does not accurately show muscle versus fat gain, muscle weighs more than fat yet takes up less space, by the way... every pound of muscle gained burns about 35 more calories daily even with a sedentary day.
I don'tknow how much I weigh now but I think I will weig myself on Sunday since it has been awhile and I have been receiving many compliments and knowfor a fact that I'm still losing. The best thing to do is to find some tight jeans or a belt and see how much better you start to fit into them. For now, I'm still doing my change of counting calories and fat grams, as well as exercise and drinking plenty of water, I feel happy and just hope I keep this up.
I guess this entry was me venting as well since everyone I know already is so tired of hearing about my new change of lifestyle. I think it helps a lot when you have support and attention from people when you are doing something as hard as trying to lose weight for a healthier you.
Thanks for reading my little bit, any questions, comments, etc. please I'm only too happy to help!

Hey Guys!! Is it okay if I join? I just joined Weight Watchers 1 week ago from yesterday and i lost 1 lb. My story is not like many others I have heard. I am a very active college student and I am also on my university's soccer team. I have been playing soccer for about 10 years but a 1 year break caused me to gain about 30 lbs and I have been gaining ever since. Now, I'm in my last year of school/soccer and I know that if I don't lose now, I will never lose. I am at 196.4 and i want to be at about 150. I need some moral support. Can you guys help?

Hey penguin chick,
Yeah I understand why alot of people weigh theirselves once a week, I can see your point. But it really doesn't discourage me when I look at the scale and see that I gained a few pounds. I just keep working at it. And if I do get upset, I can always come here and get cheered up! The last time when I was on a diet I weighed myself everyday, and that worked fine for me. It's one of those issues where it depends on who you are, I guess.

Well, speaking of weighing myself... I did this morning and lost another pound. So that's two pounds down since Tuesday. It's going ALOT slower than the last time I dieted. It's cool though, two pounds is better than none!

Socvixen,
Of course you can join, we're happy to have ya!

Good luck!

Hi! is me again, ok I couldn't resist my self and I got up the scale today, I actually lost two more lbs.(I know I said I was going to do it every sunday)but the thing is I went out yestarday w/my friends and they decided to stop for pizza, I guess I don't have to tell you the rest!! and I also had some drinks, is that so bad? or once in a while is ok?

Today I did my yoga routine and I am going for a walk later in the evening. I am drinking as much water as I can, and eating the less fat possible to make up for yesterday.
hope all of you are doing great, and somebody once told me that every day is a new day so!!!!!!
have a good one

Hey Sinnrah,
Thanks! My first realistic goal is to lose 15 pounds, so I have 13 pounds to go. I would love to lose more though! But I'm consentrating on losing these 15(13 now) pounds first.

Good luck
Mal

C-blue,
Hey good job with the two pounds!! It's hard to not eat Pizza when you're out with your friends and they are. It's okay to eat that once in awhile, just try not to eat so many! And maybe a diet coke or diet pepsi might be a little better. Like you, I'm also trying to drink more water. I hope it helps!
Keep up the good work!!!

Hi, I want to join your group
I realise that before I was *****ing about my weight and how I am fat. but, seriously though, i didn't realise a big difference in myself, until lately. And then I saw these pictures of myself. before I used to look tall and slim and now I look kinda short and stubby. I mean, I'm 5,7 and i m not short.

Ok. SO I want to join the motivation group. And start this whole diet all over again.

As of friday, which is tomorrow, i'll begin my whole work out routine. I wish to lose 20-30 pounds by the end of summer

Hey everyone! I splurged last night and I can't believe I did! I weighed myself this morning and found that I am still two pounds under, which is surprising but good. I'm still upset that I cheated! I'm really going to try hard not to! Well, how are you all doing?? Good luck!

Hey mms72,
Good job with the water!!! I'm trying REALLY hard to drink more of it. Like you, I also found putting lemon in it makes it much easier to drink. Keep up the good work!!

I'm new and would love to join this group too. I can help provide support and motivation to others as well as myself! See my more lengthy post under "so tired of it..." for what I've done and continuing to do. This probably wasn't the best time to join as I'm leaving for Europe tomorrow for a few weeks but I'll check back when I get back. Good luck to everyone keep up the hard work!

Hey Sinnrah!
I know that it's VERY easy to lose focused!!! Just think how you could be looking, or used to look, if you hadn't dieted. I mean, you sound very healthy, just try to keep going at it. You can splurge sometimes, too, so it's a little bit easier. Eat something you LOVE, but eat a smaller portion than how much you used to eat. I'm sorry if I'm not helping, but I totally understand how easy it is to lose focus and I don't know what to tell you. But I'd love for you to get back on track and stay with us here at the message board. Keep trying!!!!

hi guys, well yesterday was sunday, the day I usually weigh myself. Since I have been doing so well and seeing results in the mirror I decided there was no need to weigh myself, besides when I weigh myself next week instead of a loss of 1-2 pounds I could maybe see a loss of 2-4 !

good luck everyone, and sinnrah hang in there, orlando's girl is right, if you really crave something it is ok to splurge rather than to deny yourself. I know at least with me if I have an intense craving that I don't satisfy it will consume me until I do! Luckily now though most of my cravings are for my healthy food, if I crave something unhealthy all it takes is some rational thinking and the craving is gone, I guess I'm lucky with that and hope you all can deal with your cravings just as well if not better than me!

Hey guys~

I would love to join the group! I was doing pretty good earlier this summer, I would walk every morning and really tried hard to stay away from sweets. Since then I haven't been doing the walking, and sweets seem to consume me. These past couple of days I've been so depressed! All I want is to lose weight, but the harder I try the more I seem to fail. I need to shape up my arms, back, stomach, and inner thighs... I need some encouragement. My sweetie is suppose to be visiting me as soon as he gets the chance(he's in AL). I want to "wow!" him...but right now I'm not doing good at all! Today I completely threw my goals out the window I feel. I had cereal for breakfast, a popsicle earlier, then a bagel... Im not doing good guys!!!
I would really appreciate any motivation yall have.
Thanks!!

Casey

Hi C-Blue,

Well, I quit taking them for like a month...then I started back...and I am still on them. I want to get off of them...but I am really scared to. Sounds funny huh? They have become like a security blanket. I dont need them to control my appetite. It is all in my head. So now I have been back on them for two months.

I am down in my weight again. It is down to 106. Dont ask me how...I have been pigging out. I am fixing to start a kick boxing class w/ a friend. Maybe that will help keep my foucs. I am doing mainly low carb dieting also. It is just that most the times I dont eat a lot because I dont know too many low carb foods. So I have primarily a meat and veggies diet. Oh and water. But I would like to start exercising to be able intake a few more carbs and not freakout so much.

I feel like this dieting thing can go from needing to lose weight badly, to almost having like an eating disorder. One extreme to the other. What a ride right? Well I have babbled enough for tonight. ~giggle~

Goodnight
Sinnrah

Hi everyone. I guess joining this group is the first step I can take. Its hard when I have so much more to lose than all of you. I'm not dieting ...but perhaps I'll start tomorrow....I don't know. Dieting has caused me to gain and gain and gain.

Does anyone know of a natural dietary supplement? I mean a diet pill that is all natural?

Hi Itsbabs,

I think Dexatrim has a natural supplement. But if the dieting thing is not working for you try and change your eating habits and just exercise. You have to make a lifestyle change....just think healthy instead of diet. Maybe that will help ya.

Dont get discouraged. Ok? Just keep coming back and we will all help you/

Hey ItsBabs! Welcome to the group!

First of all, you are not the only one who needs to lose alot of weight. My first MINI goal is to lose 15 pounds (I already lost 5 Ibs) I really want to lose alot more, but I'm doing little goals at a time. Just try to stay motivated, drink lots of water, and excercise whenever you get the chance. Keep posting!

I am hanging in there...pigged out last night on pizza. LOL But once in a while it wont hurt. I am maintaining the weight. I am back down to 106. Still taking these stupid diet pills as a security blanket. Maybe I can stop here pretty soon....

Congrats on the 7 lbs girl...way to go. Only 8 more to go? Cool

Hey guys, I'm just going to be venting with some great news! Well here is the scoop on me I'm 5'8 tall and before I started my new way of life I was wearing a size 13, this is what struck a cord in that being that I am only 18 if I don't start taking care of myself now, it will ony get harder and me- well... fatter. Well yesterday I went to the mall where I would squeeze into size 11 pants when I really knew I should be trying on the size 13 ones. I actually (out of curiousity) tried on a size 7, and it fit! I tried on size 7's all over the place and they all fit pretty well! I think right now I am probably a 7-9 opposed to a 11-13 from where I started! I'm so happy guys and all I can say is that if I did it anyone can, I did it without any pills, protein drinks, expensive gyms, etc! I'm still trying to lose a bit more weight so I can be a 5-7 since at my size now I'm still not totally satisfied. Well thanks for reading girls and yay!

HI All,

I started dieting last september and since then I have lost 35lbs. I am down a total of 4 dress sizes now.

I do the slimming world diet now weigh just under 150lbs. I want to weigh between 126 and 133lbs when I finish. I know I am not badly overweight but I was big enough to feel clumsy and was often asked when my "baby was due". I can't tell you how much that hurt especially when friends started asking.

Just to say, one of the biggest things that helped me was my friend Andrea. She is the same age as me, and I met her through the Buddy System. The Buddy system and this thread are a very similar thing but its one on one rather than a whole group.

Andrea and I email each other daily and report on both our floors and successes. It helps both of us to feel we are accountable to someone. And we have set ourselves a goal that when we reach our target weights that we will meet up. (Andrea lives in Dakota, and me in the UK)

My diet is called "food optimising" its the slimming world diet. Slimming world can also be found on the web too.

Just to wish everyone the best - stick to your diets, your excersise whatever you're doing. It will happen - even if it is slowly.

Lastly - don't weigh yourself daily - it will really put you off dieting as your weight can fluctuate naturally from day to day. (Even the amount of fluid you intake has an effect.) The best time to weigh yourself is first thing in the morning with very light weight clothing on (or if you dare to bare - none at all!)

Other than that - I'll pop my head in on this thread every so often too - I hope that you don't mind helping me stay on the "straight and narrow" aswell?

Love to all

Nicola

I weigh myself every morning. I do this to maintain and to know how much I can eat. I think that each person is different. I mean, weighing everyday works for me...but it may not work for others.
