I was scouring through my mom's exercise videos and found a tape from LA Weightloss called "Breathasize." It is a 20 twenty minute video with stretches and breathing exercises. It says it burns fat and inches, yet I don't know how... I mean, if losing weight was as simple as breathing, wouldn't we all be at out desired weights?Anyway, has anyone used or heard of this video? The woman looks kinda doofy, but its from LA weightloss, so it looks promising... [This message has been edited by Sebum (edited 01-06-2003).]

I read some info on this about 2 years ago. There are some that believe that being "in shape" is all dependent upon the amount of oxygen that we can get to the muscles. Back around 2000 there were some infomercials etc on it. I thought it sounded interesting too, but don't see how it could POSSIBLY work. You never know, I've been wrong before!

The tape that I have was not from LA Weight Loss (And, IMO, LA Weight Loss is a scam), but it did NOT work. It was funny as hell to watch, but there is no way I was going to lose weight doing those stupid breathing exercises.I'd recommend skipping it unless you're bored.

hey, i don't specifically know about this particular video but i started using something similar to it called body flex. it consists of deep breathing in a very specific way combined with various positions so the oxygen rushes to the tensed muscles. it's a form of aerobic exercise, just not the type we're used to. i was a sceptic at first too b/c it sounded too simple but i can't say i haven't tried other stupid things. the breathing has to be done in a very specific way for you to get the full benefit and it takes a while to get it right. the best part is, it doesn't take that long, i have more energy and i can tell that i've lost inches. if the tape is similar to body flex, i say you have nothing to lose really. if you want more info on body flex, the book is filled with tons of info. hope i helped, take care...

Hi! I have the Body Flex tape, too. When I first got it and watched that lady on there, whom I call the "Poodle Lady",(LOL), I laughed my toosh off! It was so hysterical!!! BUT, I did that tape for one week, and lost INCHES!!! I don't know how, but it works. I haven't done it in a long time, but I should start it again, because IT WORKED FOR ME! Phototaker P.S. My mom is doing the L.A. Weight Loss program and is doing fabulous!!! She had lost 24 1/2 pounds in about 2 months the last time I talked to her. Thanks for the replies. I am gonna bump this up, I'd like to here more views if anyone else has used a tape liked this...Anyway, I would see no harm in trying to use it. But, I would really like to know how it actually makes you lose weight/inches... Also, if I do this tape before bed could it help me sleep?

The chinese have been using breathing excersices for health for thousands of years. It's called Chi-Kung. If they have been doing it that long, I guess it's possible that it works.

I belonged to LA Weight Loss too...I have the tape. I was told by one of the counselors there that this tape is for someone who is older and/or more obese than me. (I am 27 and have 30 lbs to loose). They said that is for someone who basically can not handle much else. So if you are basically incapable of physical activity, then it will be good for you. Otherwise, you should be doing something a bit more vigerous.
