about 4 weeks ago I started a new daily skin regimen. This includes vit A, E, B5, and zinc. In addition I wash with spectro jel twice a day and use Neutrogena skin clearing moisturizer. I noticed an improvement after 2 weeks. However, after about 4 weeks on the program I have just had a pretty bad breakout. I am wondering if this is normal? Should I continue, and if so for how long. I know some treatments take several months for good results, but my skin started to look better after just 2 weeks. Was this just a coincidence?

At the beginning of any new regimen, you may have a breakout because everything that was under the surface has been brought up, which I know sucks for you, but it is your body getting rid of it. Any change, being topical or pills will take about 4-6 weeks to see the true results. Even dermatoligists will tell you this when you start a new product. You just need to get through the bad period. This is even true with everything from Birth Control pills to anti-depressants!!!!

I'd say give it a minimum of six to eight weeks. It'll probably get noticeably better after you get through this yucky period...I agree that gunk deep down has been brought to the surface. It takes a few weeks to make new skin in the deeper layers. Even with bcp's they give it three to six months.
