Hello all! Just wondered for those of you who have had u/s for follicle size, how large were these follicles and when? I went this evening for emergency u/s due to pain. I am taking Clomid and am approximately 2 dpo. Temps started rising yesterday. Well, the u/s tech said that I had a follicle on the side where I am having this pain that is 40 mm. I did ask her if I was correct in thinking that this should have ruptured. Of course, no answers until I see Dr. next week. Well, I am wondering if this really a follicle or something else. Thanks!

What dosage Clomid did you take and how long did you take it? How many months in a row have you taken it? You might need a "break" month to give your body time to recover from the over stimulation. The optimal follicale size is 19mm. 40 is very large. When they get too large, some drs. think they are "overripe", and it's too hard for the sperm to penetrate. If you did not see dr today, I hope they gave you pain meds. I overstimulated once and the intense pain lasted 36-38 hours.

Hope you feel better soon!

I had 3 follicles about 26+mm all on the left side when I overstimulated. I had taken 100mg clomid two months in a row. I'm very cautous now about taking infertility meds two months in a row. That last time I did it, I took 50mg and 50mg. I was able to handle that. Did you have an u/s when you thought you overstiulated? If not, you should next time. It can give the doctor an indication on how to treat you in the future.

I start a new RE on Tuesday of this week. I'm sure they are going to want to start injectibles and I'm a little worried. My ovaries respond well to Clomid. Clomid produces 3-4 large follicles. I'm afraid injectibles will overstimulate the ovaries again.

Good Luck to you.

If you had 3 follicles 26mm didn't they run blood tests to see check (sh** I can't remember what they check for) and see if you had to much of something (estra something)in your system before releasing them with hcg? I heard that between 18 - 20 mm is optimum. They have a hard enough time getting me to produce one egg, let alone over stimulating (I was on 200 mg of clomid and didn't produce a good sized follice). But when they did clomid/perganol then I had an awesome response. I am currently cyelc day 25 so I am hoping AF stays away.

My overstimulation was a very long time ago. They have taken so much blood that I have forget which test they have run. I had a very thorough dr at the time, and from what I've read, he was with the program - so to speak.

That dr. moved out of state. I'm sad to have lost him.
