hello ladies, i'm hoping someone can help me. i'm experiencing excessive light green to yellow discharge for the first time ever. i have seen a specialist (not just a gyny) and he is perplexed. i'm not satisfied...there just must be an explaination. we have ruled out yeast, bacteria, and STD's. i have excessive white blood cells in my slide smears. no odor, or itch. has anyone else ever run into this? i'd appreciate some reason for this happening.

Hey perplexed, I'm no doctor but I'll tell you that when I was younger(pre-teens) I would get light green discharge (at the time it kinda reminded me of mucus). I never was too worried so I never consulted anyone about it. Like you, I had no itching or burning and it was probably very normal. In fact I think I still occasionally get a slightly yellowy very light green discharge with the more frequent white and clear discharge (But I can't tell you foresure because I really don't examine it too closely. I think I noticed it more when I was younger). I would deem it normal and if it's not burning, stinging, or itching I don't think you have much to worry about. I would, however, wonder about your "perplexed" gyno. Your gyno should be able to tell you that it's normal and not to worry since it is causing no irritation. I would suggest getting a second proffesional's opinion. That's all the advice I can offer. I hope it helps. [This message has been edited by Elis (edited 05-11-2002).]

Sounds like an infection to me. I'd get retested if I were you.

I had discharge like that after I had a series of bacterial and yeast infections that had been treated. The gynecologist cultured it and said that he saw a lot of white blood cells and that my cervix looked inflamed. It turned out to be cervicitis. I was perscribed doxycyclin and it cleared up. It would be a good idea to go get a second opinion from someone else. It sounds like something is going on there.
