I constantly develop pimples on my butt cheeks, usually only one or two at a time, but they are large and painful to the touch. They are usually red welts, not white heads. I am a clean person and shower usually twice a day. What can I do to get rid of this problem? Or stop them from reoccuring? IP: Logged |

My sister has the same problem, apparently butt pimples are very common. It doesn't mean you are dirty at all (same as facial acne), some people are just more prone to it. Soak in a warm bath to bring out the infection and then treat it like you would facial acne. You should ask your doctor for further treatment if it is persistent. IP: Logged |

I've heard that exfoliating may help? How do I go about that and what products should I try? I haven't had many acne problems elsewhere (i'm 25yr old male), but this is just embarrassing more than anything. I have a new girlfriend who I feel uncomfortable in front of due to my unsightly bumps. I was also thinking of trying to use something like stridex pads to clean a couple times a day. IP: Logged |

I've had minor/moderate butt acne for as long as I can remember. Washing with a salicylic acid body wash (Neutrogena) and -- this is kind of embarrassing -- using the Cleocin T which the term prescribed for my face and back have kept it down to a minimum, almost clear! IP: Logged |

I'm sorry to say but I'm not sure if you're a boy or girl but I'll say my tip anyway. If you're a girl it can be cause because of your underwear rubbing against the skin, if you are a guy then perhaps u were tighty whiteys? :-) Sry but underwear can be the case for it, i read it in a couple of magazines.
