Have you used either? Your experiences please. Describe your acne as mild, moderate, severe, hormonal, etc, and if you are male or female. I am a retin A micro user and wanted some comparisons of the 2 prescriptions. Thank you! D- IP: Logged |

Hey guys, I know there are Differin users out there, and Retin A micro users. Please share. I'm off to the derm for an 8 week evaluation in 2 days and want to discuss options with her. Thanks. IP: Logged |

I have used both in the past. They both did not work. Well, nothing has worked. Hope that helps. IP: Logged |

I have to agree with mono- they didn't work for me either! They didn't really make things any worse, it's just that I just wasn't getting any response at all! Sorry! ![]() IP: Logged |

I used Differin for a while and it really worked well in clearing my pores. Unfortunately it made my face really red so I had to switch medications. IP: Logged |

Both made my face really red. And none of them worked to get rid of my clogged pores. I used both for about 8 mos each. IP: Logged |

Wow!! I am sorry that no one has done well on these medications. I am doing fairly well on the Retin A Micro, but I think I could be adding something for daytime use, as I have said all along, namely a topical antibiotic, BP preparation, or combination of both. What do I know? I didn't go to school for it. More details to follow shortly. IP: Logged |

22 F, moderate, hormonal acne. i use differin (AM)along with Benzaclin (PM) and my face has cleared a little bit, but its only been a month and a half. I notice that neither have really prevented blemishes, but rather help them heal faster. However every once in a while a grayish spot lingers around for a while after the blemish has healed. Ive heard that this is a side effect of the benzaclin tho. I will be discussing it with the derm at my 3 mos visit. IP: Logged |

I've used differin, and it made my skin worse. I switched to retin-a micro, and that worked well, except it made me oily, and not 100% clear, but I looked fine. I'm now on tazorac 1%, and I LOVE it! It is a retin-a derivative, but stronger. Also, it controls oil and moisturizes by balancing the skin, unlike retin-a . If it can control my oil, it's a wonder drug! I also use brevoxyl face wash; it's prescription, and I love that as well. My Dr. also has me use metrogel mixed with some elidel in the a.m.--I know, I'm on a lot of meds, but they work. I know everyone's skin is different, but it works for me: oily, mild to moderate adult acne, I wouldn't say hormonal, although I did just break-out really bad before my last period, and I don't usually break-out.IMHO, I think it was b/c I was using 5%, instead of 1% Tazorac. Emmanuel--I just started Retin-A micro after 5 months of Accutane (my skin is clear, this is to keep it that way!) and I noticed my skin got really oily as soon as I started the Retin-A micro (like after a week). I thought it was my imagination or the effects of Accutane wearing off. Thanks for the info on Tazorac! Dee--I have no real info on the Retin-A micro but it is less harsh that the regular Retin-A. Never used Differin. IP: Logged |

Try using Klaron lotion..my derm just prescribed it to me. I use it in the daytime and retin-A micro at noght..it works really well. Its a lotion, so you don't need another mosturizer. IP: Logged |
