How much in general?

Which doctors are the best in CA area?

Would you get re-occuring acne after this procdure?

Any pain?

Does it REALLY work?

I have had laser treatments, dermabrasions, microdermabrasions and everything else. nothig has worked. I have mild to moderate depressed cars. Nothing has worked. Still break out a bit but the scars are what realy bther me. In some lights - it is ok - but in others - I feel really self conscious.

I think these treatments may work for other types of scarring but I went to Roy Geronomous in NYC who pioneered the use of the laser for port wine stains and then acne. He is known as the best. he even admitted it did not work for me (and didn't look surprised)

I am thinking of having injections now. Tried cologen ten years ago. Left bruising and scars came back a few weeks after treatment but I hear there are better substances to inject these days.

I have posted messages before about VBeam and Smoothbeam. Those lasers have helped my scarring soooo much. I have one bad scar in particular that is REALLY noticable. I thought I was going to have laser resurfacing (like CO2 or Erbium, which has a downtime of about two weeks) to make it look less noticable. But my derm said that with VBeam and Smoothbeam in about 4 or so treatments it will be gone. I was very skeptical because I thought that he just wanted $$$, but after my second session with the Smoothmeam and VBeam I am definitley noticing an improvemnt with that one scar and the rest. Plus, the lasers help with acne.

My derm charges $250 total for the session with the Smoothbeam and VBeam. You usually need 3-5 treatments a month apart.
It doesn't hurt that bad either. It just feels kind of like a snapping pressure on your face. I bought a numbing cream at the office, which helps a lot.

My dermotologist is Dr. Nissan Pilest in Irvine, CA. Do an online search with his name and Total Dermotology. He is a really good derm. People from all over come to see him. I have probabally seen 6 dermatologists in the past two years and he is by far the best.

JulieLyn-
Thanks for the laser feedback! What are the results as far as your pores go? Did the laser treatments smooth that out at all? Did you get a reduction of oil on your face? How about wrinkles -well, if you are too young to answer then ignore that ... ;-)

The lasers have dried my skin out a little, which I don't like because my skin is already super dry. It has also helped with making my pores less noticicable. I am 21, so I don't realy have noticable wrinkles, but the lasers stimulate collagen under the skin, which helps with acne scars and wrinkles.
