Yes. I've been on retin a micro a year as of june 5th, and still breaking out. I think its the increased oil production it's causing.

I was on it for over a year once and my face looked horrendous the entire time. It kept getting oilier, shinier, blotchy, and more full of cysts and blackheads by the day and stung terribly when I was hot and sweating in the summer. It was the number one worst thing I ever did to my face. I can't believe I stuck with it so long, hoping desperately, despite not seeing any improvements. Never again will I stick with anything that doesn't work for so long because it severely altered my self-esteem. It took me years to rebuild my self-confidence from walking around looking like a zombie like that. Even once it started to get much better, I still felt like that same ashamed person. Sometimes the acne in your mind is harder to overcome than the acne on your face.

I used it for exactly a year, and I stopped today. I got on accutane today and my Dr. told me to stop all other medications. Retin-a micro kept me relatively clear the entire time I was on it, but it also made my face red and it peeled often. When I went to get accutane today, at first my doctor refused to put me on accutane because my face was so clear, but then I showed him my back and he put me on it. Retin-a works, although it's a little harsh.
