Hello! I have noticed this really gross problem on my nose, as I recently stopped a benzoyl peroxide regimen that dried out my skin. The area on each side of my nose is so incredibly dry that I can take tweezers and scrape/life/peel off flakes of skin. When I try to apply makeup it cakes around the flakes and ick! Usually, moderate rubbing with a towel works, and i try to stay away from abrasive cleansers, but sometimes I have to resort to scraping it off with a tweezer. It is disgusting, and my biggest problem is I have whiteheads around the area, and with all the rubbing, etc. they have a tendency to break open which spreads bacteria. This sounds so gross! Anyways, anyone have this problem? I am trying to use jojoba oil to help, we'll see.

Yeah I get this from swimming so much, everyday. The chemicals just dry out my skin. I try not to wear much makeup bc it looks better without it, but if I do--I put the clean and clean dual action moisturizer on before I apply my makeup.

If its flakes on the surface then just clean it off, its already dead and theres nothing you can do for it. If its a deep area of skin, its not flaking and its sore it could be another condition like eczma and could be worth getting a diagnosis and a more suitable cream.

Oinkie,
I have the exact same problem as you. I'd constantly be checking to make sure I didn't have flakes on the sides of my nose (people probably thought I was picking my nose lol). After I started using jojoba oil, it really reduced the flakes but I still have a little bit. Good luck!
