i've had back acne for a few weeks. it started off hardly noticable now its all over the top of my back. please help me get rid of this!

I don't usually get bacne. But this one summer, I broke out really badly all over my back, so bad that I couldn't wear tanktops, which was a bummer for me since I love wearing them. Anyways, I tried treating it with Proactiv Solution, but it was such a hassle trying to clean, tone, and put acne lotion on my back, so I think I just gave up after a couple of days or a few weeks at most.
Well, good thing for me, it just eventually went away by itself, unless I used something along the way that cleared it by accident.
I might have used Caress body wash at that time to clear it. I remember hearing a friend tell me that her derma told her to use it and it worked for her, so I might have tried it and that might be why my bacne went away.
Sorry, if I don't seem like much help since I really can't remember if I use Caress or not. But I am positive that my friend said that Caress helped her and her derma recommended it.

You could try clean and clear body wash. It's supposed to work well for body acne.

You can try Neutrogena Body Clear Body Scrub with salicylic acid. Also, I've also heard of a product that you can spray on your back which contains salicylic acid. It makes it easier to apply to stay on all day. However, I can't remember the name of it. Maybe doing some research on the web might help.

sometimes i would recieve a few on my back here and there but i used to have a lot back in the days, and now it kind of left scars on my back, is there any way i can treat these scars on my back????...also i kind of got like scars on my arms from when i used to break out on my arms(like upper arm way; bicep)and i was wondering if theres any way to treat that too???....please someone help me out

I started using the following regiment last month and so far I've seen good improvement on my back acne:

* Neutrogena Body wash (salycilic acid)while taking a morning cold shower.

*Then out of the shower, I put B.P. on active cysts/zits.

* Then I use Neutrogena healthy skin lotion BHA 2%. (Supposed to fix the redness of left over spots.)

I do the same at night (just not in the shower.)
I find that it prevents new pimples and fixes old ones. I'm sticking with it since it's working!

all i know is if i had on my face what i have on my back....i just dont know.

but its not any easier....anytime you sit down your back "hurts" from sitting or even sleeping on your acne prone back....not to mention topiclas are a 10-20 minute routine...not easy to reach and NOBODY wants to rub crap on your bacne every day....haha excpet my girlfriend...god bless her soul

i tried Head and Shoulders, and for some inexplicable reason, the zinc pyrithione in the shampoo or something cleared my bacne. When my bacne was bad, i used H&S every day, now I just use it once a week or so.

I would gently scrub it with a soft body brush when you shower to help remove dirt and skin cells along with one of the acne fighting body washes mentioned above. I also saw somewhere on this board something about a Neutrogena moisturizer/sunscreen that has salicylic acid in it.

I have MUCH worse back acne than face acne, but having BOTH still sucks.

I've always used Head & Shoulders, but I haven't noticed any difference in the way my back zits are. The regiment I posted seems to be OK for me.

I'm not giving up my sugar/carbs-food, and I'm not willing to take tons of vitamines or oral meds, so this is what I'm left with. But I'm happy with it so far.

I think back acne is worse...

I mean if you go swimming, it probably shocks people more than your face, because they see your face everyday.

I have had severe back/chest acne for years. Had been to numerous dermatologists and nothing they prescibed seemed to help. I came across Herbal Logix Total Body Spray and Herbal Logix Cleansing Gel (about $5 per bottle). I wash in the shower with the Cleansing Gel and a netted back brush. Then I dry off really well and spray on Total Body Spray. I use my blow dryer to speed up the drying time. I do this in the AM and then before bed. I am now practically acne free!! I have had severe chest/back acne since I was 14 and Im now 41 and am glad I have finally found something that works! Whats nice is these products are not expensive and are made from willow bark extract which is a natural source of salicylic acid. The spray is great because you can get to those hard to reach spots on your back! Give it a try I hope it helps!
