A lot of people are asking what to eat if you cut out sugar and refined foods from your diet. Here's a list of some of the stuff I eat: a lot of meat, including chicken legs, thighs, boneless/skinless breasts, steak, hamburger, fish (salmon mmmmm...), sugar free drinks (diet drinks), fresh and frozen vegetables like broccoli and swiss chard, sugar free cookies (which I know violates the refined wheat rule so avoid if you're being strict), brown rice/chick pea/curry concoction, apples, not too ripe bananas, ummm.... lots of good stuff. THe hardest part about this type of diet for me is fact that you're pretty much forced to cook a lot. It's very hard to eat out and be strict about this. THe foods I listed above are simple enough to cook but can get boring if you don't go crazy with the spices. So experiment some and see what you can come up with. In terms of eating out or ordering out, I'll get steamed chicken and broccoli with brown rice at the chinese place. Other than that, it's pretty slim pickens. The positive parts of this diet are clearer skin, maybe some weight loss, saving money from not eating out, feeling healthier, learning to cook,... You also have to decide how strict you want to be. When you're in school or you work, it's not always convienent to eat so healthy. Unless I pack a lunch I usually end up eating out. This never includes sugary foods like tasty cakes or muffins or coffee with sugar. I may eat some taco bell which tends to not be that greasy or I may get a subway sub or a burger somewhere. Okay, good luck everyone, IP: Logged |
