There's been some moaning about the effectiveness of B5 on this board lately. Perhaps it's because those that have had success with it don't have much reason to stick around here anymore... leaving just those with limited results behind.
In 2 and a half months, A LOT has happened. My face still has red marks, those take a long time to subside (as many of you know) and sure the occasional whitehead pops up every now and then. But the point is, with 6-9g of B5/day along with a lot of water and clean and clear daily face wash, I am finally happy with how I look. 2 and a half months... versus 9 years of pain, torture and low self-esteem. Perhaps the B5 had nothing to do with, who am I to say. But it has worked for many online, and it sure seemed to work damn good for me. It's an expensive investment, one that requires lots of water and bathroom runs and it sure won't work for everyone. But for all those who say it doesn't work and are so sure about themselves when they say that, well to you, I flip the bird because you're only preventing others from trying something that might just change their life for the better only due to your own bitterness. This board was the first place I learned about B5, and I honestly beleive it's the reason I look so damn good today Thanks everyone for your support and all your great help, the past few weeks have been spent in utter disbeleif, just waiting for a breakout, just waiting for things to get worse... instead they've been getting nothing but drastically better. To those who suffer still, good luck with your battle and I wish you all the best and keep trying. IP: Logged |

Ive been on B5 for maybe a month now. Im not sure if its working or not. But I was getting worried because all Ive heard lately is "B5 is a myth! B5 is a myth!" Im glad to know that that is at least not always the case. B5 is like my only hope now. My face has given me now mercy for years.. IP: Logged |

Damnit B5 works! People on this board are B5 haters. I had acne that nothing would cure. I'm so glad that someone else notices that the people who use B5, no longer come on this board. I am currently taking 4Grams of B5 a day, and I take Biotin with every dose of B5. I am compleatly clear now. All my red marks are gone too. IP: Logged |

I am hoping to start using B5 as my maintenance program after Im off accutane (for the second time) Could anyone give me some specific instructions on how to take it? ie: What u take it with? (before/after food?) What else you take with it & when & how much? (biotin, b5 complex) For example if i wanted to just start out on 4g a day, what would be the regimen to go with that? Thanks ------------------ IP: Logged |

It took 6 months for B5 to work for me. 10 grams a day for 6 months and now I just take it when It's convenient. And your right when you say most of the people it works for don't come back here. We are actually enjoying our lives now. Oh, I also use Aloe straight from the plant every night on my face. It takes TIME for b5 to work. I broke out extremely bad for the first few months of using it. And I mean the worst I've broken out in years. Just don't stop using it. It WILL work if you give it time. There is no 1 month for acne. No matter what anybody says. I am 100% zit free thanks to this board and b5. And my acne was not mild. So this is probably my last time ever posting unless they make b5 illegal. Thanks for everything. IP: Logged |

Yeah B5 works for me too,i still get the odd spot once in a while but who doesn,t.I suffered with a spotty back for years along with a spotty face, now my face is pretty much clear all of the time and my back is 100% clear right now, this is the most amazing part of b5 to me because nothing has ever helped with the spots on my back and i have tried many things. As long as it keeps working i will be a b5 lover for the rest of my life, life being the main word, because before b5 i didn,t have much of one. The great thing is i am only taking 2 500mg tablets a day now and so far so gud. Not all acne treatments work for everyone otherwise there would be nobody out there with acne,i am just glad that after 8 years i have found one that works for me. IP: Logged |

I take B5, B complex, and a multivitamin. Taking some Biotin too is a good idea though, and I may start doing it soon. In any case, since you're looking for some numbers, here's my suggestion based on your 4 grams a day proposal... Hope this helps... By the way: I've been taking 8 grams of B5 for over 4 months and things are great for the first time in many years! I'm just about to start cutting back my dosage and see if I remain clear. How long should it take for B5 to completely clear someone up? IP: Logged |

Paradox wrote: >How long should it take for B5 to completely clear someone up? It's different for everyone because everyone's body is different. It also depends on how much you're taking... Some people start off not taking enough and they have to crank up the dosage before they start to see results. I've heard some people report great results after a month, while others said they didn't get really clear until after 6 months. I can only speak for myself... I've been taking 8 grams a day and after about 3 weeks I experienced the somewhat common initial B5 breakout which only lasted about a week or so. After that, things kept getting better and better every day that went by. It was at about the 2 month point that I would say I was virtually clear. And today(at the 4+month point) I'm still virtually clear. Oh, by 'virtually clear' I mean like 95% clear or so. I still (very rarely) get some very small problems, but they're barely even visible. Oh, and I'm 100% clear from any of those darn deep pimples I use to get! Wahooo! Since it worked so well for me, I naturally have a tendency to believe it will work for everyone, but I understand that everyone is different so I guess it just doesn't work for everyone. I just hope that anyone who does decide to try B5 makes sure to give it a proper try... 1-Take enough of it(10 or more grams if need be) 2-Spread it out over 4 times a day(at mealtimes and bedtime). 3-Take it consistently everyday. 4-Don't give up to soon. I'm one of those not coming here much anymore because B5 cleared up my skin at 49, after years of trying almost everything imaginable. I'm down to 3 grams a day and still doing great. IP: Logged |

i started taking b5 on sunday [6grams/perday] along with biotin and b-50 complex . i'm not sure if b5 has taken effect but this morning i woke up with an almost matte complexion - this is very unlikely for me because usually my face is extremely oily .. i'm not exaggerating at all . one other thing, i keep hearing about the initial break-out and i'm kind of scared because my mild/moderate acne condition has been kept under control for couple of years using a combination of AHA/BHA and benzoyl peroxide . i rarely break out unless i pick . the main problem i want to get rid of is the slick oily complexion . so i'm hoping that with continuous use of AHA/BHA and benzoyl peroxide, i won't have to deal with any initial/re-curring break-outs at all . negative side-effect i'm experiencing with b5 is a little stomache cramp . lionna wrote: >i have only seen 100-250 mg. vitamins of B5.. >will this cause problems? Hi, Personally, I take B5 POWDER. Because... I just scoop up a heaping 1/2 teaspoon of B5 powder and dump it in a couple ounces of water(or juice or whatever is handy). Give it a quick stir to dissolve it(if it's room temperature water it dissolves faster). And then gulp it down. It doesn't taste good, but it's not terrible either and it only takes a second to drink. That's the main reason I chose the B5 from acnemircale, because it's in powder form. I've also just learned that the NOW brand of vitamins has a B5 powder too and most vitamin shops sell that pretty cheap too. I'm probably going to try some of that soon. Anyway, Yep... If swallowing 50 low dose B5 pills a day bothers you, you should be able to find larger dose capsules out there. Or better yet, just go the powder route. Good luck... IP: Logged |
