Does anyone use this stuff. I bought it b/c the girl at the store said it was the same concept as jane iredale but that it covered better because the minerals were finer. Well I have used it and within like 10 minutes I look like a grease monkey. I also broke out after a little while which supposedly isn't supposed to happen since it doesn't support bacteria. Does anyone have any input. Should I bother trying Jane Iredale or will it be the same? IP: Logged |

I've never tried Glo minerals but I have Mineral Secrets, Jane Iredale pressed minerals, and Illuminare mineral make up. I bought sample sizes of this stuff just to try them out. I was interested in Mineral Secrets because it says it is less "shiny" than the other mineral make ups. Did not find that to be the case. It is the most shiny of the three. I like Jane Iredale pressed minerals (the pressed minerals are supposed to be more matte) although I have not found the coverage to be as great as they claim, but then again I'm new to this application technique. I guess the key is to keep layering on the minerals. It's decent coverage with a "no foundation" look. I do still get shiny, but not as much as with your more traditional foundations. I really like Clean & Clear blotting papers. The foundation I like best is the Illuminare Ultimate All Day Foundation. It is recommended on Paula's Choice web sight as a great foundation for very oily skin. Her discription is very accurate. It does seem very thick (comes in a tube) but it spreads and blends very well. And a little product goes a long way, it's very easy to over do it. It has the best coverage of the three and still pretty natural looking. I get shiny with this one as well, but honestly, I have not found a product that helps significantly with that. I use an oil absorbing product under my foundation and an oil absorbing product over my foundation. Plus the foundation is supposed to be oil absorbing. Still I blot, blot, blot all through the day. Even with blotting, this foundation stays put pretty well. It's the best of the mineral foundations I have found so far. Also, no break out and I've been using it for two weeks. Illuminare Cosmetics web site sells sample tubes if you want to give it a try. But even the full size tube is less than half the price of Jane Iredale pressed powder ($20 vs. $48) Although you can get Jane Iredale for about $35 at dermstore. You can also get sample sizes of Jane Iredale pressed minerals at whosthefairest. Hope this helps! IP: Logged |
