No, but I've wondered about it myself. I know a lady at work that used acupuncture to quit smoking after 40 years (no kidding). Anyone?? IP: Logged |

I had my first of 10 sessions yesterday. Of course it will take some time to see results and acne may get worse before better as the toxins are released. I also have trouble getting to sleep and last night around 10pm I felt naturally tired and had the best nights sleep and woke up full of energy. I will post updates. IP: Logged |

Last night my acne looked like it got worse but when I woke up this morning and my face was much clearer. The little red raised bumps I had are now flat and hardly noticable. I have my 2nd session tomorrow. I'll Keep ya posted. IP: Logged |

Cost varies with different acupuncturists. For me it cost $75 for consultation and 1st acupuncture session. All other sessions $55. Some places run from $30-$100 so do some research. I will have 10 sessions with 2 sessions a week. Some insurances will pay for some or all treatments. Mine does not. There is a Chinese herb called Margarite pills that clears up acne quickly. I'm going the acupuncture route because I also have asthma and want to get off the 4 meds I'm on. I don't want to try the Margarite pills because I want to see the acupuncture results without other aids. I IP: Logged |

Update: 2nd session of acupunctue and wow! The acupuncturist said the acne getting worse was normal but usually only after the first treatment and sometimes 2nd. I hurt my back with a yoga position and after the session, no more pain! Plus, I don't need my rescue inhaler so much anymore. When I returned from the session, I noticed my face clearer, even toned, and dewy. IP: Logged |

Update: After 3rd session acne is just about gone! I have to get really close to see vey small bumps. No meds needed, just a lot of water to flush toxins. Even the PMS acne did not come out. I don't wear foundation as I am allergic. My skin is even toned, dewy, and I have a natural blush on my cheeks which I never had before. People say I look very healthy. I also have more energy and sleep well a night. I can exercise without getting an asthma attack. I know it costs a lot, but I think it's worth it. GRRRRRRRR, My accupuncturist told me that 10 sessions should be enough with 1 yr follow-up to discuss mind/body state. And most people do not need another course of treatment. It does depend on your lifestyle; amount of stress, bad habits, etc.... IP: Logged |

please contiinue to keep us posted on this, as was going to try myself. I have tried acupuncture in the past for other problems and it definitely helped--my only reason for stopping was the cost. How severe was our acne? I have also heard of these margarita pills but am skeptical because there are SO many herbal acne pills that ive heard do not work. IP: Logged |
