ok here's my situation...... i have been on the pill (ortho try-cyclen) for two weeks. while my boyfriend and i plan to use condoms even tho i am on the pill, we got carried away in the moment and had sex w/o one last night. we figured we would be safe since i heard that the pill becomes effective after taking it for one week. we also use the 'pulling out' method along with the pill...and normally a condom. my question is, a i really safe from pregnancy or should i go to the clinic asap and get a test or pill or whatnot?

I for one have always followed the one month rule.
It also depends on when you started taking the pill as to how long it takes. Then of course your doctor's advice is always the best thing to follow.
You can try giving your doctor a call and see what he/she has to say.

i think they start working after one week.. thats what my clinic told me... im in my teens an started being on the pill almost a month now... bt i still use condomns... the more birth control methods the less percent chances you have getting pregnat.

I'm on women, but when my girlfriend was taking birth control, her PAMPHLET said 2 days. We had sex on the third day, she didn't get pregnant. Not preaching anything, but just saying, read the material provided, or ask your doctor.

It all depends on the pill-so ask your doctor/gyno/health care provider and read the instructions along with it. I have always belueved the 1 month rule, and if you skip a pill the 7 day rule.

omg jessibelle please tell me thats not true. I take ortho tri cyclen... always on time... am careful about the antibiotic thing and grapefruit thing... are you sure you didn't do anything wrong in taking the pill? Cuz it hurts really bad when i use a condom so i usually don't use one... but i'm on the pill.. are you sure theres no reason you got pregnent while on the pill?
