I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis for 28 years. I was wondering if anyone could relate to mine. I have Sero-Negative Rheumatoid Arthritis. My Doctor says that my type of arthritis is rare in the USA, but not in France; therefore it might affect people of French decent. I have all the regular symptoms of RH butI endured cystic acne so badly that it left scars. I went through accutane treatments at 32 for 3 months and it helped alot. Now I just use Retin A. If anyone has this I would like to hear about it and what meds. have helped. Thanks, scout1 IP: Logged |

Hi Scout1, How are you today? I'm new to this message board. I posted a message under Immune Disorder Section. I was told by my long time Dr that I have Seronegative Arthritis, I have had the symptoms for 1 year & 3 mths now. I have tried a lot of medications anti-inflammorties which helped short term. I have been seeing another Dr. which has taken me off Prednisone & (Plaquenil new Dr put me on this now is taking me off them altogether) now I'm on no medication. You can read it all under the Immune Disorder Section if you like. It could take years or months for anything to show up in the blood tests, wish it would come sooner so I know what is wrong with me, I am getting so frustrated & don't know what to do next. I must go now as my fingers are starting to hurt. Hope to hear back from you. Take Care Petite_Sharon IP: Logged |

Hi my bloods also show sero-neg although i have all the classic RA symtoms. Docs first thought it was virul and put me on prednisoline and Vioxx. Ahh immediate relief in those burning wrists but then what? They tell me we need disease modifying drugs to contol the spread, not just the inflammation. Was allergic to Plaquenil and Salazopyrin due to the sulphur base. Six months on now...About to try methotrexate. They now tell me RA is here to stay and may one day show up in the blood. I'm from Australia with Irish, french and Dutch descendants so maybe there's something in it. IP: Logged |

Hi AussieChick, How are you today? It's frustrating when blood tests come back negative, & you don't know how long it can take for them to show up positive. It would be nice to know exactly what you are dealing with. I am becoming frustrated everyday as now Im on no medication what so ever. since my Doc dosen' know what's wrong with me. I am learning now just how to deal with my pain since nothing can be done, I guess that's all I can do. I have had my aches now for 1yr & 3mths am getting worse every day just have to pace myself. I am glad to hear from someone Take Care Petite_Sharon IP: Logged |
