I'm older and have recently been getting these cyst-like blemishes on my face which do not go away very quickly. Alas, sometimes I pick at them and a scab forms over it. Is there something any of you have found to help the scab go away faster? An oil of some sort? My skin is older now (I'm 49) and so doesn't have the collegen like it used to anymore.

Have you tried CP(copper peptide) serum from Skinbiology? It's a wonderful collagen builder, fairly inexpensive and lasts long. The other day, I applied it to a zit I had messed with, and it healed so fast, I was amazed. However, since it cannot be bought in stores, your present scab would most likely have healed by the time you receive it. But I would def recommend it if you are looking for an anti-aging product.

Vitamin E is fabulous for rapid healing. Get a bottle of the capsules, pin-prick one and dab the gel-like fluid on the trouble spot. I use it for red, dry patches on my face and it clears the redness overnight.

if you're going to use vitamin e, you must use jojoba oil first. the vitamin e cannot penetrate the skin on its own.

Hi, I'm older too and have been getting cyst-like blemishes on my face also. When I pick on it(a no-no for older skin) nothing comes out but some clear fluid. It scabs over and when the scab falls off, the bump is still there under the skin. It's frustrating. I tried retin A, vit E, aloe among other things but so far it has not removed it. If you find anything to dissolve these things, let me know. I was also thinking, since my skin is now, more coarser, and pores larger, I find that blemishes don't heal as fast as they used to, and when they do they tend to leave some scar tissue. Could some of these bumps be scar tissue?

I have the same type of cysts such as yourself. I believe they are because our hormones are fluctuating so much. I am ready to go a dermatologist and perhaps get some retin A for it. I may post another message on the board asking if anyone has found anything to help this. The woman who does my facials says there's nothing that can be done for it.

Hi, I hope retin A works for you, it didn't do anything for my bump other than to irritate it and cause blood to come to the surface. I found over the last couple weeks, that my bump is almost gone (still a little left, but I am pleased with the results since I had this for many months. My daughter handed me some Oil of Olay refreshing Toner and astringent which I've been using. I don't know if that has something to do with it, or if my hormones are changing and it has done it on it's own. Let me know if you have any success getting rid of yours, and I will continue to apply toner and see if mine goes away completely. Hopefully it will because this is frustrating. Good Luck.
