Hi all! Got a question about some acne-like bumps I get on my scalp. Last summer I was getting them bad on the side and back of my scalp (but they could occur anywhere on my scalp). For the record, I am a 29 year old male, and I keep my hair real short.

I switched to Head&Shoulders shampoo the end of last summer, and it seemed like the bumps stopped for the most part (still got some on the back of my head). But within the last few weeks the bumps are coming back again. Right now I have 3 red painful bumps on the right side of scalp, 1 on left, and 2 on the rear.

What are these, and what should I do to get rid of them? I noticed my scalp seems very 'dry' lately. Could this be the problem? Should I switch to a more gentle shampoo?

I am not sure if this is just acne or what, but any help or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I'd do in your case. Get some Apple Cider Vinegar With Mother at a health place. Put it on the scalp and rub it in, let it set for about 10min. then rinse. Don't get it in your eyes!!! It burns the eyes.
Also get some Tea Tree oil. Put one drop per ounce in a moisturizing shampoo. Head~N~Sholders is too drying. Shake the shampoo bottle really well, then use this after doing the ACV treatment. The ACV should clear up the dry flakies, and the tea tree oil shampoo should help with the bumps. Good luck. It's help alot of my friends with the same thing.
