My 23-year-old son is already having a receding hairline.. It breaks my heart to see him losing his hair at such a young age. Ddoes anyone know of any hair products out there that can help. I know Rogaine is good for patchy baldness not receding hairlines. Thanks.

In one word, Propecia. It won't do anything to re-grow lost hair, but I have two friends who stopped their hair loss dead in it's tracks. Supposedly it's 86% effective in stopping hair loss. The sooner he starts the better.

Good luck.

I agree Propecia and Roagine 5 % (get the generic it's cheaper). With this combo.. you can stop hairloss.. and get back SOME hair,no miracle but you keep what you got .. and grows back alittle thicker and fuller but it takes many months can't give up..since he's young he will be a good canidate for both and usually better results since it's been receeding for less time than most men.

Best of Luck,
Rich

Thank you both for answering. I do have a couple of questions. I have heard that Propecia has some bad side effect - main one being sexual problems. Also, from what I have read, both these products only work for areas on top of the head and in the back (male pattern baldness), not for the front or receiding hairlines. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If I am, I will go out and buy these products right away

Tesha, there is no proof or guarantee anything will get the hair back, but yes your correct since people thin out slower in the front and in the back is where you see the bald spots .. they target MPB male pattern baldness usually on the vertex (top back of the head then moving foward). Rogaine states it has not been shown to grow hair in the front/temples but it "could".. Propecia on the other hand.. can grow hair in any area if your LUCKY most keep their hair which is a miracle by itself and some grow some back to where it's managable... Propecia you can get from almost any doctor, but a Derm is more sufficient in telling you what to expect go to a Derm with him (please remember this is Traumatic) a guy losing his hair is sometimes worse than well okay not worse than losing his sex drive but they are pretty much in for a TIE. Propecia i've only been on for 10 days i personally can't see any difference in sexual change,it happens to about 1 % of men where you don't get fully aroused as you were used to,something i'd hardly think about,i'd rather keep my hair.Propecia and Roagine have no side effects really i mean rogaine goes ontop of the scalp (Get 5 %) alittle oily but other than alittle shine on the head, you get some mild irrtation at best most get nothing. Propecia that small percentage gets the sexual problem something that goes away if you stop it anyways.. i would def give these 2 a try. I about 3 weeks ago .. had a decent head of hair after drinking with a buddy he said . hey your losing some of your hair in the back .. it traumatized me because even though i had a full head of hair i knew it was thinning up there .. 2 days later i got a buzz cut, everyone said buzz cut looks way better than the way i had it before which would mean to me to NOT use the stuff, but i don't want it to thin anymore, sure easy remedy is a nice buzz cut... and my hairline isn't too bad yet that i can't save it .. so i am going with these 2.Please be patient for results..it takes a few months to see anything sometimes you feel like your wasting your cash but it does work.

Good luck, please keep me posted on how your son repsonds to the 2 together, and if he needs and pep talk can always email me!

Take care,
Rich

I am 21 yr old male I have been using propecia for abour 16 months..I started losing my hair at the age of 16 bad genes I guess. But I havnt seen any hairloss since I started using it, I have a little bit of a receaded hairline, but it isnt terrible. I havnt seen any regrowth on my front, but I havnt loss anymore either so I can deal with it. ONly way to get the hairline back is through some sort of transplant. Also I have seen no sign of sexual side effects, I remain horny all the time...hehe
