My friend was talking to me about some sort of vitamin/pill/supplement that speeds up hair growth. Have any of you heard of anything like this?

Numerous vitamin manufacturers make a vitamin pill and most of them are just called "hair, skin and nails".

Health food stores also sell specific products that are geared towards hair only. Some of them can be pricey and the lady in the healthfood store once told me that i'm better off just buying a multivitamin as the contents are basically similar, but cost less.

ONly 2 treaments i heard of for women that actually work are rogaine and some use cayene pepper on the scalp (that is up for debate but people say it works by improving circulation to the scalp it's kind of expensive and i don't think there is enough trials on it the name is fabao 101 i think,it seemed good till i searched it.. and i realized propecia and roagine and azelex would work great for the one spot on my head that was thinning (I am using this as a preventive measure, now that i have a close cut,i think i look better with short hair. Anyways give Rogaine a try you can get Generic ROgaine much cheaper .. and it works the same name brand much cheaper.. GOod luck.

Take care,
Rich

Your friend was probably referring to Silica, which is the likely active ingredient in most hair, skin, nails supplements. I've used silica before, and it DOES make your hair and nails grow faster. Copper peptides are the only other supplement that works to increase the rate of hair and nail growth. You can find these at www.skinbiology.com, where he sites tons of scientific evidence for CU-peptides.

Well, many companies make suplements that are formulated to improve the health or hair, skin and nails. I tried one from phyto called "Phytophanere"(pills, costs $30 for 2 months treatment) and to my surprise my hair and nais were growing at a surprising rate. Like really fast. So, give it a try!!

BIOTIN!! go the any vitamin shop or GNC and get either straight biotin vitamins or i just recently bought a product called great hair that has 3000 mcg of biotin in it, the guy said it was the most potent dose of biotin you can find and when i was finished the bottle, i would DEF. see a noticeable difference. my stylist also recommended this, she said she used it when she was growing her hair out and it was amazing.
