Every morning I wake up I feel groggy, whether I get little sleep or a lot. Anyone got any tips on getting rid of this??

I have had the same problem sense high school, I'm 24 now and the only thing that helps me is coffee, a shower, or no drinking alcohol before bed. I think everyone pretty much has the groggy problem, its just something that happens as you are waking up.

I wish this was a problem everybody had, because that would make it normal. I feel exhausted after getting 10 or more hours of sleep, just the same as I do when I don't sleep at all....I can't get rid of these crazy bags under my eyes, no matter how much sleep I'm getting...Sleep is such a chore, I think I'm gonna have to give it up soon!

I haven't read much about this but I've read short things on it. It's a rare disorder where people are very, very drowsy upon waking. I mean everyone is tired when they wake up a bit or maybe they had a late night. But there was a family in Canada that had it every day and it caused adverse affects in their job, etc. I'm not sure what it's called 'something-wake-syndrome'. But I've only ever found and contacted one researcher on it. Good luck!

I've never been a morning person. Even when I was a little girl I was drowsy in the mornings. I found out when I was a teenager that I had a hypoactive thyroid which made me feel lethargic a lot. Other symptoms are cold, clammy hands and hair loss(I never experienced that one.
They tell me my thyroid is normal now (maybe its because I finally tossed the synthetic stuff and used natural medicine ), but I still feel so tired in the mornings, and I've decided either you're born a morning person or you're not!!!

Good Luck!
