I have both narcalepsy and catalepsy, catalepsy which branches off of narcalepsy. In my particular case, I get very weak and lose all control when I laugh over certain things, very simple dumb things actually. At this point I can not move until it passes. At first it was very scarry but i have learned to live with it. I am curious to know how others act with this disorder. ALso i was curious to find out if any scholarships could be obtained from this disorder, I am going to be going to college next year. Thank you, and if you have any questions about my disorder let me know.

I have narcolepsy and take a drug called Provigil. It seems to work. I don't have Cataplexy, but I can imagine it is frustrating. I don't know about scholarships, but I do believe that narcoleptics are protected under the disabilities Act. Which means your professors or employers have to make provisions for you at school or work, so you can't be discriminated against due to your illnesss.I don't know the web site, but try looking up disability act under the search engine. Good luck
