Ok, well, i have a kind of embarrassing question, but here it goes. I'm a virgin, but i have had some close sexual contact with one man about 3 years ago. About 6 months ago i discovered these small white bumps around my vagina. There are a whole bunch of them and they're just hard (not like pimples). At first i freaked out, but they do not hurt and they have not gone away. What are they? IP: Logged |

quote: Don't really know. I don't think it would be ingrown hairs from shaving only because they're not soft-like pimples. The only thing I know of that would be hard bumps would be warts, but they should have shown up a long time ago if that was in the past 3 years, if that's what they are. I'm stumped. IP: Logged |

From what I heard, you can have the genital warts virus and not necessarily break out in warts. Something can trigger it later on in life. i don't know how correct that is, but it can make sense considering some other medical problems show up later from an event earlier in life. IP: Logged |

Definitely go to a Dr. If they are genital warts, which they sound like, they could also be inside and should be treated. IP: Logged |

Don't freak out just yet. In men's case this sounds just like Pearly Penile Papules (or Pearly Penile Pearls). It is completely normal in aprrox. 30% of males. It is ridiculous that it is not taught in sex. ed. during school. Anyways, if men and women knew about this from that early age, they wouldn't get so freaked out when it appears, and men wouldn't feel so depressed and afraid to approach women, fearing that they'll think they've got some disease when they see their penis. Anyways, since you describe them as small white hard, rock-like bumps, that is exactly what 30% of men experience around the coronol rim of the penis head. In your case (female) you should see a doctor and discover what it is called exactly. Also, since you said you had a close encounter and you discovered it 6 months ago, it could also be something else. If you're a teen, they develop in males during puberty, or around 12-15. Bottom line, get it looked at, and ask if its the same thing as males get? (PPP) Don't forget to keep us posted. IP: Logged |

now you guys got me all freaked out, cause the other day i noticed two small white bump thingys but they are way far from my vagina and there are no others. They are outside on the outer lips where hair grows. Anyway they seem way too hard to be ingrown hairs, what could they be?? IP: Logged |

if he touched you in anyways down there they could be warts.... he could of had warts on his fingers, hands or even just carried the virus.. nothing to worry about go see a doc he/she can give you some cream, you will be fine.. only the doc will know whats up.. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I have the same problem and have had it since I hit puberty. I feel really gross and am afraid someone will think they are an STD but my husband didn't care once I explained to him that the doctor said they are normal and he said they were called fatty cells probably not the medical term though. The correct term is Fordyce Spots. A search on the Internet will yield more info. They occur on both males and females. Thay also can appear on the lips and mouth. They are not a STD or transferrable. They just "happen". IP: Logged |
