I just read a report that Bob Barefoot's Coral Calcium "Supreme" From Okinawa, Japan was tested and found to exceed the risk level for lead content at more than 1.5 mcg per gram of calcium.

Following are brands of Coral Calcium that passed the test, found NOT to contain excessive lead:

Vitamin World® Naturally Inspired™ Coral Calcium
Puritan's Pride® Coral Calcium 500 mg
Nature's Bounty® Earth Friendly Coral Calcium 1000 mg Plus Vitamin D

Lead is extremely poisonous and causes deterioration of mental function. Just an FYI.

I can second that report. I heard it on National Public Radio on the way home from work this evening. One of our governing bodies (FDA?) has filed to have the infomercials to be removed from the air and their assets frozen.

Yes, most people do not seem to be aware that alot of Marine coral calcium has been exposed to various harmful pollutants from large ocean ships, fishing boats, factory discharges, sewer pipes, or volcanic lava ash. You need to carefully shop for a brand that does not have this stuff, and is more stringent with collection.

I was actually taking Bob Barefoots Coral Calcium sUPREME, and actually felt better after doing so..memory actually has improved. I switched last month to a brand names Barefoot Coral Calcium Plus I purchased at Walgreens...I know its not really the Bob Barefoot brand, rather a generic, but does anyone have info on the lead content of this formula??

Too good to be true again? I don't think the generic has lead tho.
