Actually, this is a two question thing. First, does anyone know what brings on a blood blister? Is it viral? What causes them? My daughter has been getting them lately and she doesn't know why. She doesn't remember biting her cheek or lip...any ideas?

The other question is about jaw pain (or I think it's jaw pain) On the left side of my chin right under neathe, it kind of hurts, when I turn my head to the left and then look down, I feel something. Ot's almost like I can feel a little ball in there that floats around and hurts to touch. My husband said that he has had that too, but, I don't know what it is. Anyone know? No fever or anything like that. Just whatever that little ball is floating around hurts. doesn't feel very big either. I too have had a blood blister, is it related? Do you ever get soreness anywhere from that?

Blisters that contain blood instead of fluid are aptly named blood blisters, and are caused by a rupture of blood vessels beneath the surface of the skin, usually due to trauma.
