For about 2 years I've had these awful dark circles around my eyes. They're very apparent, especially in pictures. It makes me very self conscious. I'm not sure what's causing them but I definitely want to get rid of them, but I don't know what to do. My mother says it's because I smoke and don't get enough sleep. I don't know. I've recently started using L'Oreal Plenitude Eye Defense cream which is supposed to diminish them but when I put it on it makes them stand out even more. I know it sounds funny for a guy, but I also use this concealer stick which does ok but doesn't really cover them up all the way. I've enlosed a picture below so you can see what I'm talking about. They seem to stand out alot in photographs. I have no idea what to do, I've heard so many reason why they could be there like I'm anemic, I smoke, not enough sleep, vitamins, heredity etc. Hopefully someone will be able to look at this photo and tell. Thanks for any help! Here's the pic.... Http://www.facelink.com/soundchaser IP: Logged |

BTW, the funny thing is that no one else in my family has dark circle problems that I do which will hopefully mean it's not inherited. IP: Logged |

hi Clay. i had the same thing when i was growing up. every one made my mom nervous cause they kept saying "oh shes sick, you gotta get her to the doctor". but i wasnt sick. my son has the same thing . he must have gotten it from me. i dont think its anything to worry about. see what a doctor has to say if you feel that you should. best of wishes, sheri IP: Logged |

Hey soundchaser you are a really handsome young gentleman and your circles are not that bad. I recommend you get a vitamin K cream and apply at night before you go to bed. Vit K cream is usually marketed as a dark circle diminisher. Mary Kay makes a good one as well as most higher line cosmetic companies. It takes 2 to 3 weeks to see results and you have to use it every night. A little goes along way, you dont need to use too much. Worked for me. Gracie IP: Logged |

Thanks Gracie that's very nice of you to say. I appreciate it. I'm beginning to think they may be 'allergic shiners'. IP: Logged |
