I don't know if I am just being paranoid or something is really wrong. Someone had posted a message about their eyes being sunken in and wondered if it was lack of nutrition, or insomnia or a medical problem. I have noticed that my eyes have started looking sunken in in my eyelid area. I have heard that sunken eyes or sunken cheeks mean a person is close to death and is dying. I am so paranoid about my health as it is and now I am scaring myself. Can anyone give me some advice of what sunken eyes are caused from? Any posts are appreciated very much. IP: Logged |

Sunken eyes do not necessarily or exclusively mean you're close to death. The correlation has to do with the fact that when someone IS close to death, various physical and physiological changes occur to the body, only one of which is the appearance of "sunken in" eyes. A number of different diseases can also cause this, so can lack of sleep, so can various vitamin deficiencies, stress,... In fact, you can show one or several of the same "symptoms" as someone who is dying, but not be dying. If you are concerned about it, see your doctor, - especially if you have any other physical problems too. Other than that, take a closer look at how you're sleeping and what other stressors are in your life. IP: Logged |

You're most likely not going to die randomly if you feel good. I get sunken eyes/stomach when I'm sick or haven't eaten or are tired/stressed. IP: Logged |
