On Sunday when I woke up I had puffy lips. They felt a little tingly and numb. Then Monday morning when I woke up my cheeks were puffy along with my lips. When I woke up today they are both still puffy. I'm not sure what could have caused it?? Haven't eaten anything different from what I usually eat. IP: Logged |

Hmmm...I've had this happen a few times, but I've always been able to attribute it to tanning bed, allergies/sinus, or a severe bout of crying the night before. Could any of these be the culprit for you? [This message has been edited by GloomyDaisy (edited 02-18-2003).] IP: Logged |

it might be allergies or sinuses...I really hope it does down by tomorrow coz I'm supposed to go pay a bill and then to the bank. I don't feel like going outside with puffy cheeks or lips. IP: Logged |

Sounds like an allergy of some kind. Take an over the counter antihistamine and then consider seeing an allergist for allergy testing if you have never had this done. Why wait for something more serious to happen next time. IP: Logged |

There's a chance you could have a fungal, or yeast, infection. Your symptoms don't sound quite the same as mine, but it is possible to have a yeast infection on and around your mouth. I know -- I'm dealing with it right now. I have deep cracks on each side of my lips, and redness and some swelling around my lips. The "official" treatment for an oral yeast infection is apparently a prescribed drug called Mycolog II. I'm using over-the-counter Monistat, and it's working. I've been told that Tinactin, the treatment for athlete's foot, will also work. Good luck. IP: Logged |
