I have severe lower back pain (in the small of my back) upon standing up or sitting down. It's weird because the pain goes away once I have been sitting or standing for a minute or so..but once I change positions I get a good solid minute of excruciating pain. Any idea what this could be? I'm not sure of the cause..I ran on a treadmill a few days ago for the first time in a long time, and my daily job routine does involve some minor back usage. I am just not sure if I should see a chiropractor, see another doctor, or just let it be for a week or so to see if it goes away. I'm a 32 yr old male in general good health, not taking any drugs. Thanks.

Hi and welcome!
You probably just pulled something when you went on the treadmill. Did you overdo it for the first time in a long while? If the symptoms don't change though, I would definitely see my doc about a CT or MRI just to rule out anything serious.
I hope it goes away for you and the only thing you'll have to worry about is taking it easier next time you're on the treadmill.

I used to get that after a long hard days work(at at desk)

I would lay down in my bed and id get huge back pains. That would go away after about 2 minutes. Then Id sleep like a baby.

6 months ago I coughed and hurt my back. So dont take this so lightly go see someone cause I have been feeling tingling which maybe shows that i suffer from impingement. ?
