If you pour some visine in your foundation, and then apply it on your face every day your pores will gradually begin to shrink. I just found that out on Good Day Live, that show on Fox..I thought that was a neat little secret. I dont wear foundation though, so I can't try it but I guess you could probably put a thin layer of visine all over your face by itself and you would get the same effect. Try it out :-) IP: Logged |

It will also "bleach" your face. I have had Visine drip down from my eye after I put it in, and I'll end up with a white streak there for a few hours. LOL! IP: Logged |

Visine works by constricting blood vessels. That's how you get the "red" out. The dilated blood vessels in your eyes constrict from Visine thereby reducing the redness. However, the effect is temporary and in fact, if used too often it will lead to a "rebound" effect where the blood vessels will become permanently dilated and the eyes will be red all the time. I have a feeling that the same ingredient that's responsible for constricting blood vessels is at work when Visine is used to shrink the pores. The effect would most likely be temporary and may with continued use lead to the same rebound effect on facial pores, causing a permanent dilation, perhaps even worse than they were to begin with. VegasGirl, the white streak you experienced was not really a bleaching effect of Visine. It was the temporary effect of the blood vessels in your skin being constricted. As a matter of fact, Visine is used by many to temporarily lessen the red appearance of a pimple. It really does a good job of that. I use Visine occasionally if I get a pimple. It really does work to reduce the redness. It's a great temporary fix, but I wouldn't do this too often as others have said. IP: Logged |
