OK, who has naturally wavy hair?

I do. Mine is just below bra strap and very wavy. I scrunch it to make it look really curly.

I use frizz ease, LA looks gel, Biolage glaze and frizz ease mousse.

Anyone else here have naturally curly/wavy hair?

Yes, I do. I just found this new stuff by L'Oreal Studio Line called Anti-Frizz or something like that. What I love is that it defines the curls after scrunching--they look like spirals and do not have the crispy gel look.

I wear it curly a lot in this (Seattle) weather, but straigten it when weather permits. It's not bad but makes me feel like I'm stuck in the past with a perm--a good perm, but a perm nonetheless. People only think to ask if it's natural or a perm because people just aren't getting perms these days to go all-over curly.

Why do you ask about curly hair?

I do, but mine looks awful so I straighten it. Maybe if it gets really long I'll be able to wear it wavy.

I have wavy hair. When I blowdry, it's straight but kinda frizzy. When I airdry its wavy. But when the its humid, it gets curly (like big spirals).

yea. i do too! in a way, i'd rather have straight hair, ya no, it would be so much easier, but sometimes my hair can be so pretty. of coarse i get those NASTY hair days too.

i use this one real soft gel right out of the shower. it only smooths fly aways and enhances some wave. but i'm glad i have waves and some curl than stick straight hair that can't get scrunched or curled... or even worse, curly hair that wont straighten... just friz. Be happy, its just the in between hair that can get the best of both worlds.

I have naturally wavy hair too, a lot of it. I try to straighten it but usually end up having smooth big waves due to the humidity in the air. I use a product to take the frizz off my hair and recently I got a layered medium-short cut. The best hair-style I have ever had.

I have wavy hair to. but i didnt want to go out and buy a diffuser which helps dry wavy/curly hair and give it an extra boost. so i made one! all i do is after i get out of the shower i shake my head to seperate wet strands a little. then i put a little bit of curling cream mixed with a little bit of Redken's outshine polishing milk and a handful of Got 2 Be's full of yourself and scrunch it into my hair. *****then here's the trick!!!! i take a pair of clean stockings or panty hose and cover the end of my blowdryer and then rubber band it to the blowdryer. then i flip my head over and scrunch! scrunch! scrunch! TA DAAA a head full of wavy curls

I have naturally curly hair too and I am not overally fond of it. I often straighten it out with the blow dryer. However, I will wear it curly often. I use a product called Making Waves by Graham Webb. I put it in my hair after I towel dry it from the shower. I will also take many little sections of damp (not just out of shower, let it air dry a bit) hair and twist them. So, I will have all these twisted tendrils coming out of my head. I will let it air dry like this (obviously do this at night or on the weekend) but the results are so nice! I will have a head of NON FRIZZY wavy hair.

So Luckyduck....how long does it take you to dry your hair like that? I've tried a diffuser and it can take me 45 minutes to dry my hair. I don't have that kind of time. And how on earth do any of you keep your hair from looking stiff with all the gels and mousse you use? My hair is very long, very curly, andt also very frizzy, but I don't like using those products on my hair as they always seem to make it feel a way I don't like. I prefer my hair natural and soft but like I said, along with that comes the frizz. What to do?

im not sure why it doesnt get all "crunchy" but different things work for different people. my hair is about 2-3 inches below my shoulders so it isnt that long. it only takes me about 10 min to fully dry my hair. the first 2 things i put in my hair are creams so i think that those make my hair stay soft. and the moose keps it styled...i think! im not sure. but it does work for me. if you find something that really works well let me know. i'd be interisted to find something new so i DONT have to mix a bunch of stuff. thanks!

hey! i have naturally curly/wavy hair that i used to straighten everyday. that wrecked absolute havoc on my hair! it was always dry and frizzy w/ a weird cowlick when i straightened it. so now, i simply air dry w/ some gel and spray on some curl spray and it looks much better than it ever has! i get so many compliments, even from my hairdresser, and now my hair is soft and shiny. no more frizz here!

OH GILRS, I TOO HAVE STRUGGLED IN THE PAST WITH MY NATURALLY WAVEY HAIR. IT TOOK ME YEARS TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO MANAGE IT..I WORK FOR A HAIR STYLIST AND I USE MANY DIFFERENT SALON PRODUCTS. I TRULY ENJOY PAUL MITCHELL SCULPTING FOAM, VAVOOM SCUPLTING GEL, AND EVEN THE PAUL MITCHELL REWORKS MIXED WITH A FEW DROPS OF GLOSS DROPS WORKS GREAT. I DID FIND A VERY INEXPENSIVE PRODUCT IN THE GROCERY STORE CALLED "CURLS UP".I LOVE IT...
I WILL SUGGUST THAT A GOOD SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER ARE KEY.. I HAVE TO ADMIT TO YOU ALL THAT I NEVER USE THE SAME SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER OR STYLING PRODUCT TWO DAYS IN A ROW.I SWITCH DAILY...NOT SURE IF IT TRULY HELPS BUT I THINK IT CUTS DOWN ON BUILD-UP. I ALSO NEVER BLOW DRY MY HAIR. MY STYLIST TOLD ME ONCE THAT THE MORE YOU TOUCH CURLY HAIR THE MORE FRIZZY IT BECOMES..
GREAT ADVICE..

I have naturally wavy/frizzy hair too which is often a nightmare. The worst part is that I have a cowlick so my hair never lies flat in the front. Some stylists say its a good thing because it creates lift, but I disagree.
If my hair were all one length it would look like a triangle because it is straighter, and flatter on top. I have been to so many stylists and very few know how to cut my hair EXACTLY how I want it.
In 1996 i went to a pretty good salon that gave me square layers that are rounded out to get rid of the heaviness and bulkiness. It also framed my face real well (square/round shape face).
A lot of stylists tend to cut the top layers in triangle or blunt cut, AVOID this.
Also avoid texturizing or any other weird techniques b/c it makes the hair frizzier.
If you use a diffuser with the prongs and spiral curl your hair with your fingers (think Jennifer Aniston)your hair will be more normal looking. I use Frizz Ease mousse, and Rene Furterer Vegetal spritz which is expensive but worth it. I also use Aquage gel which is good. I alternate products.
Lotions are not good for wavy hair that is flatter on top. It makes it too heavy and greasy.

I have naturally wavy hair also and i also use the stocking and rubber band to do my hair, Whoever made this up was right on, It drys so much quicker than a diffuser, and i get great result, I use a product from walmart Its called Got2be curly and its a spray works very good on frizz, you can air dry or use blow dryer with it, I like the results for both, Hope everyone has a great day

I wrote this in another post a minute ago, but for those of you with long wavy thick hair that get frizz when you staighten, try FRIZZ EASE HAIR SERUM by John Freida - can get it at walmart or anywhere, I put it in right out of the shower and blow dry ending up with very nice smooth straight hair. often needs a touch up with curling iron, but its great!
My wavy hair is useless! anything I do with it looks like I am uninterested in doing my hair, if you know what I mean! NEeds straightening no matter what!

I have kind of wavy hair, but I don't use any products on it, it looks better and is healthier for me that way. I'm not sure why people use so many products, I think that just takes away the natural soft, clean feeling, at least for me.
