You piqued my curiousity, so I spent a little time on the net looking for reasons for facial hair loss. Here's what I found...
Several sites mentioned facial hair loss related to Chemotherapy, and there was a vague reference to medication in general as a cause. One site said it was not uncommon to develop uneven facial hair growth as a result of aging.
Another site mentioned the following:
"Hair problems can be due to diet, stress, heavy bacteria, deep dirt, hardened sebum and cholesterol plugs that wrap the root of the hair."
And another said:
"The presence of some disease states such as thyroid disorder or diabetes, are worth considering in addition to nutritional deficiencies. Factors including emotional stress and some autoimmune problems have also been implicated. In the final analysis, a visit to a dermatologist would be the next step. You may at least get a better explanation and treatments aimed at hair restoration."
