Sorry, cannot give this mascara rave reviews. I could not build any length or thickness, and this mascara would cause my lashes to straighten after I've curled them. I know that some people just love this mascara(???), but I'm not one of them. If you are looking for a good mascara that builds length and thickness and does not smudge, give Cover Girl's Super Thick Lash a try.

Sometimes I think the topic of mascara falls somewhere between religion and science. Don't want to rain on your parade, but I too found it to be god awfull mascara. And I know *a lot* of people have nothing but good to say about it... way to gooy for my taste. What I, personally have found to be a mascara sent from heaven is Mary Kay's Endless Perfomance Mascara! Hope this helps a little! Just my 2cents, I'm sure there's more loose change out there.

Well, I have to agree, even though I've been using this awful stuff for years, mostly because I haven't been able to find one that I actually like. This Great Lash leaves clumps on my lashes and makes them stick together. I can work around it but it's not one I can recommend. Maybe we can get a few suggestions for some others.

Well i tried out the stuff for myself, and i actually love it lol. I think whether you like or not may depend on what you're trying to achieve. Personnally I dont want to build amazing lenght and thickness because I like the natural look. I just want to darken the lashes so that it gives my eye shape a good definition.

But thanks for your answers!

Is this the mascara that comes in the pink tube? I am pretty sure that is the same one but I always take off the sticker haha neway yeh I love having thick lashes even if they're a lil bit clumpy... i have used this mascara for so long! Recently tho, I switched to a mascara called lash discovery by I think maybelline... the brush is long and small but man this mascara has kick! Even better you don't have to order it! You can just go to wally world n but some for like 5 bucks lol (I am too lazy to order stuff...) Thanks for the great topic

The reason I love Maybelline Great Lash is that you can take your time with it and because of the wand... I have really blonde lashes so I need to get right down at the base and I have to stroke several times on the tops and bottoms of the lashes to really cover them entirely or I look funky because my golden lashes really stand out when they aren't entirely covered... the great lash just stays wet for longer than other mascaras I've tried so it doesn't start clumping up... it probably takes me five minutes to just do the tops on one side and most mascaras would've dried by then. This would actually be a disadvantage for others because it means an increased chance of smudging or transferring of mascara. Also the wand is very small and tapers with a nice curve at the tip so I can really get down at the base of my lashes... a lot of other wands just sort of cut off right at the end so that it's a physical impossibility to reach the very base of my lashes without also scratching the inner rim of my eyelid... if you want to do a quick sweep up the lashes this brush just won't work for that because of the tapering, it's also not the best design for thickening. So, although it may not be the best mascara out there and for some could actually be the *worst*, in my situation it gets the job done like nothing else I've ever found, including the more expensive mascaras.

I hated it and threw it away after 3 uses. It was clumpy and way too thick. Even if I wiped the wand off it applied too much to my lashes. I also had problems with it leaving smudges under my eyes (and I only applied it on the top lashes).

I'll stick with my Maybelline Full n Soft or Almay One Coat, thank you.

I thought it was kind of rubbish! It made my eyelashes really dry and brittle, and didn't lengthen them or anything! Like rough spider legs eeew I like Oil of Olay moisturising mascara

I wasn't too crazy for the great lash, but Maybelline's other mascaras ROCK!!

I especially love Volum' express, full 'n' soft and lash Expansion :-) Give these a try if you're looking for more dramatic results. Otherwise, the great lash is sorta ho-hum in my opinion.

i have never tried it...but the only way you know if you like it is is if you give it a try. Sometimes what i do is I test it in the store, wehn no one is looking like @ CVS or other drugsotres.

How do you 'test' mascara in the store when the mascara is sealed? Do you acutally open it up, use it, and then put it back on the rack??

I used to use Great Lash, and for the first week or so when the bottle was new it worked great. But then it got really gooey on me. I've been using Almay's Bright Eyes Mascara and I love it!
