For about the past 3 months I have had blood in my stool. It is very painful to have a BM, almost like my anus is ripping. There is blood in my stool and on TP. Sometimes not much other times alot. .The blood is generally bright red, untill last week. There was a small clump of dark blood that looked like a piece of dark snotty material. I went to the doctor yesterday and he has scheduled me to meet with a specialist, but I'm pretty worried. I wasn't really concerned before because I just figured I had some kind of Laceration or hemorroid or something. I'm scared that this is something that's going to be really bad. Am I just being too scared too quickly? IP: Logged |

Since the blood is usually bright red that indicates fresh bleeding so you probably have some hemorrhoids or a tear/fissure some where. The specialist will determine what is going on. You do need to start taking some fiber therapy like metamucil if your doc didn't already tell you to do this and don't strain on the toilet as this is a primary cause of hemorrhoids. IP: Logged |

I am also having these weird muscle spasms in my upper abdomen and alot of gas. I have just recently (3 days ago) stopped my High Protien - No Carb diet, which was really making me irregular. But this muscle spasm is very uncomfortable and makes me even more nervous about the blood situation. I have started eating oatmeal, w/ psyllium, taking larger doses of vitamin C than normal and have quit coffee cold turkey yesterday. Is there any chance of gal bladder related problems with these issues. IP: Logged |

Could be gallbladder, but it sounds like lack of fiber in your diet (hard stools) and hemmoroids. Those hurt and are not fun! Hope you are going to a GI Dr.! IP: Logged |
