I have started having green bowel movements since Sunday night and it's Tuesday afternoon and it's still green. I had flu type symtoms without a fever a couple of days before this started and loss of appetite. My appetite is slowly coming back and I've been hardly able to tolerate but pushing liquid. The only liquid my stomach could tolerate was Gatorade and I don't care for Gatorade except the Fierce Grape. I've been trying to push the water more since yesterday. The nausea is pretty much gone. I did call my Primary Care Dr.'s office yesterday and they told me to stay hydrated and eat bland foods and if it continues for another week to call them back. Is this an odd response or normal? Just a note: My husband came down with a 24 hour bug the day before I had any symptoms but he didn't vomit and I did on Friday night but couldn't tell you what color as we have colored water in the toilet. He also didn't complain about having diahhrea. About 10 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with IBS but was symptom free until the beginning of this year. Anyone have any thoughts and/or suggestions? Can anyone relate? Your help is much appreciated. IP: Logged |

From my own personal experience I have found that purple food coloring (like what was in your Gatorade) can cause your stools to look green. IP: Logged |

Thank you so much for that information. I was beginning to worry more than I probably should. I had just began wondering today if the Gatorade could be playing a role but it never hurts to check and see if anyone else has gone through the same experience or similar to it. IP: Logged |

It is called a "Healing crisis". It's the bodies wat of dumping toxins that are making you sick. It should last no more than a week to a week and a half. It is percectly normal. Just stay hydrated. IP: Logged |
