I am experiencing extreme burning in my brain I had an mri and a cat scan done I was on tranquilizers and antidepressants I was also given a narcotic for this because I ended up in the emergency room.I have stopped all meds because I was addicted to them but even when I was on them they didnt help the burning sensation.I cant take any type of aspirins because its like adding fuel to the fire.I had accupuncture done but it didnt help I am so open to suggestions please help.

Have you ever had an MRI.
I have hot spots on the top of my head in diferent spots.
I went to see a Neuroligist and they found these to things in my head.

Hyperostosis frontalis interna and Pineal cyst.
I see a neuroligist on monday. Tosee what theire going to do to me. Surgery?

You really need to see a specialist.

Maneula, I have had my symtems for about three months. They started with an ear ache. I went to the doctor. He said I had no ear infection. So he did an Xray of my skull. That's when they found the bony tumors in my brain. He treated me with Neurontin. It didn't work so he had me get an MRI. That's when they found the pineal cyst.

And yes I get hot spots. They can move from one spot to another. Doctor says that the bones in my face hurt so bad. That my brain basically moved the pain out the top of my head.

He says that we have hundreds of tiny tiny holes in or head that alows this to happen. Also I went to three doctors before one of them actually found the pineal cyst. I couldn't believe it took three of them before one found it!

i just got back, and unfortunetly i didnt get too much from him. the appointments always seem rushed considering they make them every 15 min. he checked my head to see if there was a rash, there wasnt. i told him i think its xanax possibly causing it, and he ended up switching me to Klonopin which is longer lasting than xanax. thats whats bad about xanax, it doesnt stay in your body long and can cause withdrawl symptoms right after it wears off (so i read) Currently he wants me to continue taking trazodone (which i started 3 days ago) and start zyprexa tonight, and the klonopin "only when needed" the problem there is that ive been having to take the xanax 3 times a day. i hope this stops the burning. I really hope thats what it is. its pretty scary, you know? Does your head feel a little tender to the touch? Mine does once in awhile. and today i had a 100.2 fever, have you had a fever? Its good to find someone whos going through the same thing it feels good to talk to someone

Hey Tinkerhell
Do you have schizophrenia because zyprexa is an antipsychotic medicine used specifically for that disorder.also are you depressed because trazadone is a heavy duty antidepressant. Also I dont want to scare you but you should really consider checking out some of the benzodiazapine withdrawal sites they are kind of scary but extremely informant.Listen I detoxed off of xanax with klonopin and its the hardest thing I have ever had to do but I will tell you it is worth the pain.also I stopped taking my antidepressant because these are things we dont need to put in our bodies. So did the Dr. tell you anything about what was wrong? He also put you on klonopin because it has a longer life span than the xanax. Please be careful those pills can become your worst nightmare if you are not careful.please write me back and let me know if you are suffering from anything I just mentioned.

tinkerhell my head is sometimes extremely tender to the touch. And one more thing see how the drs. are they dont take the time out to really check the person out to see what the real problem is and then they stick them on some antipsychotic medicine and send them on there way thats so sad that they only care about the money.I am always here for you if you need to talk ok.

Manuela, You cannot just stop taking Neurontin. You have to wean your self off of them. Just like almost all other medications.

Head hurting, heat and tender to the touch is usally from pressure in the brain.

What do you think is causing yours???

Delrae are you sure he is taking 15mg 3to 4 times a day or 1.5mg?Yes I believe that he has built a tolerance to the meds and he is probably experiencing withdrawals because xanax is extremely toxic so it has to find a way out so usually it escapes through the skin on any part of the body.I was on it for 4 and a half years and I am surely paying for it now.Is he on any other type of medication?I had an mri and a cat scan they didnt find anything, but it is good that he is getting one so he can rule everything out. Please check out some of the benzodiazapine withdrawal sites out. What initially was he prescribed the xanax for?

Delrae that is a benzodiazapine called serax not xanax but it is in the same family I know that some of the symptom side effects of these tranquilizers include, internal tremors, headaches, loss of memory, tingleling in body parts, insomnia, increased anxiety&panic attacks, breathless feeling, increased depression, flu like symptoms, naseau, distorted vision, dizziness, tight chest, ringing in ears, sore eyes, agoraphobia, hallucinations, light, sound, touch, smellsensitivity, abdominal pain, confusion, heart palpitations, chest pain, blurred vision, metallic taste in mouth, suicidal thoughts, aching limbs, feelings of tight band around the head, tingling sensations in the tongue or lips, skin feels like its being pricked with a million needles all at the same time&seizures sometimes happen if you go through a quick withdrawal so make sure if he is going to stop the medication that he goes on some kind of tapering schedule ok.I am not trying to scare you but you and your husband need to know how dangerous these drugs really are.As for the paxil I could not take it because I had an allergic reaction to it.I am not on anything now I feel it is just better that way. Please write back if you need to ask anymore questions or need additional help with anything.

No i dont have schizophrenia. zyprexa is also used for panic disorder (that is what i have) the trazodone is for sleep. the burning has seemed to go away a little with the klonopin, i only felt it a little bit afterwards. is it easier tapering off klonopin when your on other medications like antidepressants.

Tinkerhell Yes it is but eventually you have to get off everything and did the doctor tell you it was for panic disorder?Listen I want you to please look up the ashton manual it will help you read it.I am not on anything and it seems like the burning is going away on its own.also the doctors dont care about anything but money I am sorry to say thats why I wont see one anymore unless it was a life or death situation.I know its hell but if you practice doing other things to get your mind off everything then its not so bad.Its all about reprograming your brain.

Hello every one! I went to the Doctor on Thursday. They say that the things in my head are not causing my headaches and other problems. They told me that every thing is associated with Fybromyalgia.

So now I have to find a specialist. Problem is in the state of Nebraska there isn't one.

Guess I'll start surfing the net.
Hope every one here gets some answers.

Fancy, What are they going to do about the cyst in your head? Why did it take 3 doctors to find it? Couldnt they see it on the MRI? I had 2 doctors look at my MRI. Do you think that's enough?
