My best friend of 14 years was diagnosed with cancer in her jaw. I belive it is osteosarcoma, however she had a biopsy done two days ago, and we are wating for the labs to come back to find out if this is really the cancer she has. She is 15 years old. I do not know what her treatments will consist of.. I know she will need surgury... and possibly chemo. My father had squamous cell carcenoma (however it was on his tonsil) about five years ago. He went through surgury and radiation, with a good outcome with his health, but not so good mentally. Depression followed his lack of energy and appetite. I am worried about her pysical apperance changing (she is a stunning girl) because it has always been a big factor in her life- especialy her hair- which she may now loose. Any comments would be appreciated.

Liv0724, I had throat cancer. The radiation removes hair only in the target area. I've had a beard for years and shaved only my neck. Turns out that's no longer required as that was the target for the radiation. Nice to find a few 'benefits' to the surgery & radiation. BobE :-)
