My sister has just had a recurrence of her breast cancer, it has metastasized to her lungs and spine. She has many small tumors in her lungs and a few spots on the spine. The liver, kidneys and brain are clear so far. They are starting her on Taxotere and Herceptin next week, and possibly Zometa as well-we are still waiting on the results of the protein test. They are doing weekly chemo this time-3 weeks on, 1 week off. I am wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect from this protocol and I would love to hear some of your stories, if anyone has been through anything similar. Four years ago she had one breast removed and had 4 positive lymph nodes. She was taking Tamoxifen until last week. I have searched on the internet, but haven't come across anything similar to her case. Thanks for your help!

Hello! My name is Rodica and I am from Romania. I am worried sick about my mother. She had breast cancer and now I feel like I am going to die. Today we found out that it spread to her brain (breast cancer brain metastases), as she had some of the worst miments of our lives the last two or three days. She had convulsions, lost her conscience and had to be taken to the emergency room to recover.
Please, help!
Does anyone know someone that has recovered form this kind of problem? i would really really really do anything for my mother! I just cannot stand watching her like this!
And everyone treats me like "Well, we did the best we could so far" and so on!
How can I help my mother?
Anyone, please help me!
Thank you in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am the mother of a 37 y/o who was diagnosed one year ago and has had 6 months of preop chemo and then double masectomy,, results were not good,, the tumor had invaded the nodes as well as grew into the upper nick area, which they could not remove..she just finished radiation for that and now they are finding small tumors in both lungs,, her dr is investigating a trial done in Maryland.. some kind of transplant. she and her brother will both have blood samples sent for testing to see if there is a match... does anyone know of this trial ?? When I have more specifics I will share them She is the mother of 5 and like all of us truly wants to see them grow,, she is HER2 -.
There was a message from someone going thru a very similar situation,, was wondering what direction was taken and if it worked.
