My mother-in-law had breast cancer in 1972, and had a mascetomy. She has been cancer-free since...almost 32 years.

She is a non-smoker and always has been.

This week, she was diagnosed with cancer in her lung, an adencarcinoma. The drs. want us to get the slides/tests of her breast cancer incident....I was too much in shock to ask but I am wondering today: Could they possibly think this cancer is related to the one 32 years ago?
