Just wondering if anyone has any information on what happens after a LEEP procedure. How long does it usually take before you get answers? Is a LEEP generally used to diagnose cancer or to cure it?

It generally takes about about 2 weeks to hear anything. I myself am waiting to hear back about my results. It can remove all of the cancer but t also is a way to diagnose invasive cervical cancer. Good luck!

I had a LEEP about 3 years ago. They diagnosed me with cervical dysplasia when I went in to have my first prenatal pap done. When I had the LEEP done it was cancer. The LEEP is done to get the abnormal cells removed from your cervix, and it worked for me. I don't have the cancer anymore. But I will have to go back once a year to get a biopsy done to be sure that the cancer doesn't return. Good luck to you

For those of you who've had the LEEP procedure, where you able to conceive a baby and did you have any problems with scar adhesions after the procedure that may have made it difficult for sperm to enter the cervix due to scarring.????

Any treatment ideas for possible adhesions/scaring (?massage, myofascial release) to improve odd of conception?????

Hey girls, I had my LEEP done 6 years ago. After the LEEP I believe I had another biopsy to confirm that all the abnormal cells were gone. It was a long few months and I thought I was gonna die at first .. but it's going to be ok ladies. This is so common and the LEEP is highly effective in preventing reoccurrence.

- For the person who asked about conceiving after a LEEP - I have tried twice and miscarried w/ in the first trimester both times. I don't know if those cervical problems were a cause of the miscarriages. They were unable to determine a cause. I will be trying again soon and I will keep you posted. I think the problem after a LEEP for some woman is an incompetent cervix but miscarriages due to incompetent cervix occur after the 10th week (on or about). Hope this helps.
