I have a child who's teachers are suggesting that he be tested for ADD, but all say that if he has it, it's a very mild case. They also advice that I wait until after the summer because they feel he may out grow it. I have heard that there are all nature vitamins on the market now to help children like this instead of medicine. Has anyone got advice or experience in this area. Thanks ------------------ IP: Logged |

My nearly 7 yr old son has been taking supplements for 2 years now. He takes 50 mg B-complex for attention, 400 mg magnesium for hyperactivity, 250 mg C as an antioxidant for clearer thinking (plus as an immune system booster). He also takes Kava Kava at night for anxiety and to help him sleep. A really good book on suplements is "Vitamins & Minerals - An Illustrated Guide" by Karen Sullivan. You can get it at Amazon or your bookstore can order it if it is not in stock. Supplements can help with ADHD and any of the comorbid problems, such as anxiety, anger, hyperactivity, etc. Kyle was having out of control tantrums and got upset at everything. I started him on essential fatty acids after reading the results of a study done at Purdue that showed that EFAs can help behavior problems. Kyle did a complete turnaround in only two weeks (it can take up to 12 weeks to see a difference). Another good book is "The ADD Nutrition Solution" by Marcia Zimmerman. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the info. I have decided to try Relaxin. I have been told really great things about this all natural vitamin. I'm hoping for success. Thanks again, IP: Logged |
