I WAS ALSO PRECRIBED .3mg's OF CATEPRES(CLONODINE) 2/DAY AS NEEDED I HOPED IVE HELPED A LITTLE A.C. P.S. THERE IS 2.5mgs OF HY.COCONE IN HISTUSSIN HC PER DOSE, AT TOTAL OF 50mg'S OF VIC'S IN THE SMALL(120ml) BOTTLE, I HAVE HEARD SO MANY STORIED ABOUT TUSSINEX, AND SIMMIALER SYRUP'S, AND THEY WERE ALL HORROR STORIES !! I hope so.Please let me know.I can't talk to my doc cuz I've pretty much burned that bridge:-( Did you get a buzz from it,cuz I don't. I just thought it would help my body adjust down a little until I cold turkey it within a few days.Did it upset your stomach? I tried cold turkey last week and fell off the wagon after 4 days and took 140 10/500's in a week.My hubby is about as supportive as a dealer to a buyer.NONE!! He does not care about this and thinks I'm being over-re-active and stupid about this. He thinks I should just stop and blame I'll be fine...NOT...... Your support is wonderful...thanks! IP: Logged

If you are taking that many, having wd's, and want to stop, he should be supportive of you! You are definetly not over-reacting! Does he take them too? This just worries me, cuz with him unsupportive of you it will make quitting worse. Is there anyone else that you can talk to? If you don't have anyone, buddy up w/ someone on here and get a phone number. Trust me, you WILL need to talk about it to continue getting clean. It helps so much to talk to people who have gone through it all before. This is probably what is keeping me clean- talking to my friend off of another board on the phone, and having the support of someone close. IP: Logged

And don't listen to the hubby (I'm sure you know that). And yes, that histussin can upset your stomach if you take too much. It could also be the wd's too. This is a journey I must take on my own i guess.It is soooo great to have this message board and find out I'm not the only one who got addicted.I feel so stupid!!!!!!!! I have 4 beautiful boys-6-5-3-3. I got addicted after the twins.They gave me alot if meds and I had really bad post-partum so they numbed me. I quit after awhile and started again (6 weeks after the twins my husband broke my nose open by hitting me with a tupperware bowl,it broke across my nose 6 stitches-you know how hard it is to brake tupperware?!?!) for a few months,quit and started and now here I am quitting again.I feel so embarressed and a failure as a mom because of this addiction. I want to stop NOW.......FOREVER!!!!!! IP: Logged

The pharmacist told me that a couple of years ago. They're gonna be adding it to all the narcotic cough meds to keep people fron abusing it. Hope this clears it up for ya! Dawn IP: Logged

Ive never kicked the benzos but tried even inpatient. My Combo for the opiates were... Neurontin - All 7 Days For seizures Clonidine - All 7 Days For b/p Phenobarbital - also for seizures, and anxiety. I could not take valium because I was also trying to kick the benzos but I refused the phenobarb anyway. And just Motrin and Robaxin as needed for pain. I refused the Darvon too because I just like to know when the symptoms are gone and like it would work, I was tearing the bed sheets apart. IP: Logged
