Anyone had a lower facelift, with the neck muscles also being tightened? If so, could you share your experience with how long the swelling/bruising sticks around, and more importantly how long it takes for the neck to feel less stiff and tight? (I hear it will feel like I'm being choked for a while.) Also, a rather, uhhh, delicate, personal question, lol...hubby also wants to know if the stiff/tight neck will hinder, ummm, my pleasing him orally. (How's that for stating it tactfully?

Dawn, Your hubby is going to have to wait quite a while. Men are so self absorbed; it's so funny! I had a lower face lift, also have a small tiny scar [not noticeable] about an inch back from my chin. It takes a good two weeks to feel close to normal, but will take longer to feel totally normal. I don't know how far into the neck they can go, but I'm very happy with my lower facelift and feel it was well worth it. Don't do any 'moves' with your neck and face till you're sure it's okay. You can tactfully ask the doctor about that. Good luck to you.

Dawn, I had my lower face and neck lifted 5 weeks ago. I continue to feel like I'm being choked, although it's gotten somewhat better in the past week. My doc says it will gradually diminish over the months ahead but for some people it isn't totally gone for a year. If it were me, I'd be telling the hubby to wait a month. But everyone heals differently. Good luck!

To Joy and Bosin, thank you for the info. Yes, men are certainly self-absorbed, lol. I'll just remind him how GREAT it will be after wait, LOL. Joy, so glad you're happy with your results! And Bosin, everyone does heal differently, and I'm sure you'll be fine. I've read several people's posts elsewhere and most say the worst is over between 3-6 weeks...so you're almost there. After that, it gets better and better as the nerves heal, and before you know it, it doesn't bother you anymore, even though you still notice it. Thanks again, both of you!
