hi, i was wondering what exactly is the difference between liposuction and tummy tucks. i know basically but also, what is a general price range and do doctors take payments? is it painful? do they use anything to numb you up first?

i'm really self-conscious about my body and i feel like i look like ****. to put it bluntly. i'm 5'5" and i weigh 210lbs. i want a change but i really can't wait years for excersise and diet to change me unless that's all i can do. i can do it after the lipo but getting the self-motivation to do it before since i already feel like it's hopeless, is difficult to do.

Can anyone help?

thanks.

tummy tuck is actually taking extra skin off and sewing you back up. lipo is some small holes and they suck the fat cells out of you. BUT you cannot just have everything yanked in one procedure especially if obese. and also many good doctors will tell you to stabalize your weight before going the surgery route

first of all as a formerly obese guy I think you must really open your eyes to the reality around you.

Why are you overweight? Are your eating habits out of control? do you exercise to keep yourself healthy rather then just to keep weight off?

I know where your coming from in wanting the weight off and quick but im telling you, before looking into plastic surgery do it slowly and in a way your body likes.

Start slowly and learn to exercise with intense cardio and weight lifting. Find activities you will do and practically daily for the rest of your life. No plastic surgery can overcome bad habits now and in the future and it will all be a big waste of time.

if your atleast 18 yrs old you probably have been dealing with this for a long time. The ultimate goal of losing weight is probably far off for you but through good diet and exercise almost daily you can lose 2lbs/week safely. Learn about your body and much better you will look and adapt and you will be positive when you see this weight loss each week through hard work.

you will remember where you came from and take those habits with you so you probably wont let your weight get out of control again.

Also your body likes activity. With cardio for your heart and weights to atleast tone your muscles your natural shape will come through much better gradually than some hack job to an unhealthy person.

A tummy tuck is major surgery. They can do lipo along with the TT actually they usually do. You need to go and talk to a plastic surgeon. A TT and lipo is not a cure for losing weight any ps will tell you to lose weight before the procedure. They can suck out only so much. If your eating habits dont change before surgery what makes you think they will change after. You still need to watch what you eat and you still need to exercise after the procedure or you will go right back to being overweight. The cost varys . I will be paying 6500.00 for a full TT.I was quoted prices as high as 1100.00. You will need to see a ps and get all the info. Good luck

thanks for your reply. i think i'll ask my mom if she wants to join a gym or something like that. then i guess i could talk to my doctor about diet and the meds i'm taking. after i wrote that question, i realized how much it would cost and i don't think i'd want to go there. thanks again.

My thing is this, I have lost over 40lbs already. I want to loose about 25 more, and I'm worried that the lower part of my belly will still look awfull. I do toning exercises 3 to 4 days a week as well as aerobics 5 to 6 days a week. So I think I am doing things the right way, but is it possible to loose that stretchy skin without having surgery?

the only way to get rid of that skin is surgery. I went down to 119 pounds worked out at the gym did kick boxing and did weights. I was in real good shape but the stretched out skin was still there. Needles to say I am going for a tummy tuck on sept 19. The price is worth not having to look at that mess.
